that's good to hear. ravage kicks ass. i like how firing squad actually has some favorable reviews since ula gehret stopped writing it. i saw him at new jersey metalfest and called him the guy who hates everything. he got a good laugh out of that.
Ravage Curse of Heaven This Boston area band has asn obvious hard-on for '80s thrash. A DVD-style packaged disc (why do people do that shit anyway?) bears a six-pack of melodic thrash ranging in length from four and a half to seven and a half minutes. Surprise, Maiden and Priest are among the obvious influences. The drummer surges with energetic pops and rolls between lines. Guitar-wise, it's Megadeth/Voivod-ish time changes. Vocally, things get grating in spots with the melodic crooning just few notes off. Overall, though, a pretty solid start!
