So far Ecailles De Lune is the best album of 2010. My only complaints being that it's a relatively short album and the second half isn't as strong as the beginning. Really tempted to attend both the CT and Allston shows.

Listened to this split this weekend. Much better than the songs on the last Alcest album in my opinion. Other band is pretty good too.

say what you will about "goth" black metal, at least this stuff incorporates that early 80s post punk vibe rather than just being norsecore with female vocals and a keyboardist wearing a top hat

Finally got around to checking this out. Now I can't wait to see them. Sounds like My Bloody Valentine or Slowdive playing black metal in a way, but real interesting stuff.

I think Les Discrets on the split had more of that shoegaze feel.

The last full length Alcest album. Only really liked a couple of tracks off that one.

So this is what passes for "quality" heavy metal music these days. Very well. I may take down my guitar this weekend and make an album that is better than this, using nothing but my cell phone and Pro Tools.

the last songs clean guitar intro riff is increibly mellow, yet soothing. I like this release more and more

I'm thoroughly enjoying the new disc, but it doesn't totally lay me to waste with awesomeness in the way that 'souvenirs' did.

New album is pretty cool. I didn't like all the abrupt changes during the songs though. Seemed kind of ill thought out sort of like how opeth does it.
