Erland, Spawn of Possession's new (fucking amazing) bassist, added his bassiness to Noctambulant.

YOINK

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Dec 8,2009 3:18pm
i bought Spawn of Possession and it does absolutely nothing for me.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 8,2009 3:21pm
you bought the band?

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Dec 8,2009 3:23pm
i keep them behind plexiglass in my living room.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 8,2009 3:25pm
Did you get Noctambulant or Cabinet? I like Cabinet better. They are easily my favorite technical band. I'm not really into the tech stuff so much these days but my love for these guys is unchanged.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Dec 8,2009 3:26pm
Noctambulant. it's so painfully boring. i definitely understand the proficiency, but i can't get into it.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 8,2009 3:27pm
Cabinet is more death metally. It also a bit of an acquired taste. I don't know if you ever liked Archaeon but SoP was most definitely our biggest influence haha.

toggletoggle post by arktouros at Dec 8,2009 3:54pm
huh. awesome

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Dec 8,2009 3:57pm
i kind of agree with tony ... i really wanted to like it but there was just something missing. maybe it will strike me better with the bass added. i'll check it out later

LISTEN TO CABINET

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 8,2009 5:09pm
I guess I was under the impression this was the whole album but upon downloading since arriving at home, I see it is only one song.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 8,2009 5:11pm
But he also did inner conflict: http://www.sendspace.com/file/9cuk6p

'Cabinet' is their best release by far. Though I'm interested in hearing Erlend on this, cus his playing is always bonerrific.

Glad I got to see them when I had the chance.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 8,2009 5:12pm
They're doing tours and shit soon I guess. They're doing Aus before they release their next album.

toggletoggle post by blue  at Dec 8,2009 5:15pm
Yeah, and when they tour more they won't be playing just Cabinet material, will they? Har har

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 8,2009 5:16pm
God damn! I wish I knew about them when they came here. I would have jizzed twice as far.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 8,2009 5:16pm
I mean, I still love Noctambulant and I'm sure the new stuff will also rule so I don't care. I get to see my favorite tech band!

You were like 5 years old or something. They toured the US in 2003.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Dec 8,2009 5:25pm
Definitely listen to Cabinet; that CD has some of the sickest grooves.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 8,2009 5:29pm
6 years old, thank you very much.

I was a freshman in highschool I think. I was 14 or 15, I believe. Wuteva fuk u!!!!!11!!!1

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Dec 8,2009 5:30pm
Too bad you weren't curious back then or you might've known about them playing.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 8,2009 5:31pm
YA FUCK WHY

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 8,2009 5:37pm

toggletoggle post by Archaeon at Dec 8,2009 5:52pm
N > C

goes over all yer faggot heads i guess.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Dec 8,2009 5:54pm
Noctambulant does not have the groove value that Cabinet does, so you are faggot.

toggletoggle post by Archaeon at Dec 8,2009 5:57pm
tech > groove

in the case of SOP. I like pop punk so im right.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Dec 8,2009 5:57pm
groove is def what was lacking on noctambulant... i must find a way to get my hands on this Cabinet you speak of

toggletoggle post by archaeon at Dec 8,2009 6:07pm
This devourment CD doesnt have enough tech!

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Dec 8,2009 6:09pm
Groove is a lot more satisfying than tech, and even better if the two are balanced...LIKE ON CABINET.

toggletoggle post by archaeon at Dec 8,2009 6:22pm
I'm gonna go kiss underage girls. peace.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Dec 8,2009 6:24pm
Well fine. I can see when I'm too old and not a girl for you. :(

toggletoggle post by rbss at Dec 8,2009 9:27pm
Both Cabinet and Noctambulant are such incredible albums for unique reasons. Some of my favorite metal music of all time. Truly amazing.

Noctambulant definitely already has awesome bass playing, beautifully arranged to suit the rest of the music. It's kind of insulting to the guy who played on the record to imply that there's "not enough bass" or something. Although I do enjoy Erlend's take on it.

toggletoggle post by Martins   at Dec 8,2009 10:40pm
No, he just recorded them because he's learning them for the tour. He just decided to show the SMN dudes.
