CANDLELIGHT and THREEMAN RECORDINGS Confirm Agreement for North America
Philadelphia: Candlelight Records today confirms the North American license for all Threeman Recordings titles. The new partnership will see the US and Canadian release of all new and reissued catalog titles from the growing Scandinavian record label through Candlelight's stateside operation.
The first scheduled release will be Entombed's latest album, Inferno. The US release,.expected in August, will feature bonus selections not available on the European release. The band is already in the planning stages of a full US tour to support the album sometime this fall. Details to follow.
Threeman's Daniel Strachal says, "we feel very pleased to finally have this deal up and running. And with a strong partner like Candlelight we hope that we can finally get our sought-after albums released properly stateside, especially Entombed, who has been shamelessly underexposed overseas since Wolverine Blues. We have also received great interest for Murder Squad and The Project Hate. Our goal has always been availability and finally we and Candlelight can deliver."
Formed in 1996, the Stockholm-based Threeman Recordings is owned and run by members of Entombed with Daniel Strachal. The label's roster includes The Project Hate, Murder Squad, God Among Insects, with Entombed and others. For Europe, Threeman is distributed by Playground Music throughout Scandinavia with Plastic Head Music handling England and other various territories.
Since its launch January 2001, Candlelight's US operation has now released over 100 albums across its three US imprints. The company's current projects include the new album from hardcore pioneers Pro-Pain, label debuts from Norway's Cadaver and Khold, the latest album from Sweden's Dismember, plus continued work on the second album from Norway's Zyklon, the debut from Grimfist (featuring former members of Immortal), the current album from Sweden's Centinex and the label debut from Eugene, Oregon's YOB. In 2003, Candlelight reissued its popular catalog from Opeth, previously under license for the territory, with bonus material added. The label plans the reissue of its Emperor catalog later this fall, with reported bonus and dvd enhancements.
Candlelight, with offices in Philadelphia, is headquartered in London and is distributed exclusively in the US by Caroline Distribution; in Canada by PHD Canada; throughout the rest of the world by Plastichead Music Distribution.
