Yep.

It is officially mine as of last night.

I know the pics are of shit quality, but took them real quick for commercial insurance reasons.

toggletoggle post by Eli_hhcb at Jul 9,2009 9:28am
sweet, thats pretty cheap.

toggletoggle post by metal_church101  at Jul 9,2009 9:37am
Yeah, I am not complaining over the price either. I wound up buying a replacement footswitch that lit up and re-tubing it, but re-tubing it goes without saying when you buy a used tube amp.

That's an awesome deal, good score.

toggletoggle post by metal_church101  at Jul 9,2009 9:38am
Thanks blue.

If you ever see me live again, you can tell me how shitty I sound through it :-)

the price is a price to splooge over

How much does a road case for a cab like that weigh? just curious.

toggletoggle post by metal_church101  at Jul 9,2009 10:07am
That cab is a 5150 cab. I am not sure how much that live in hard shell case weighs, but I know that I can no longer put it into the back of my truck any more on my own.

Good news is, that amp case is a wrecking ball and is durable :-)

hah, bad news happend and you learned that?

toggletoggle post by metal_church101  at Jul 9,2009 10:13am
LOL. Bad news that I can't lift it without throwing my back out?

toggletoggle post by Eli_hhcb at Jul 9,2009 11:10am
I ment testing out the road case. usually something bad happens and then you're like "whoa, this thing works pretty good"

toggletoggle post by metal_church101  at Jul 9,2009 11:11am
Ah. Gotcha. Well, it has protected my cabinet from when I gigged out in the past.

Gotta love band mates that deserve a beating because they are less than careful with your gear.

toggletoggle post by Eli_hhcb at Jul 9,2009 11:15am
hah. We have to carry this Basson 8x10, it's like, 250+ pounds. I keep trying to get him to cut it in half and re wire it...

I'm all for road cases, I just was curious how much that weighs for cab, as they usually weigh enough already.

I can see it being safer. My cabs was scratched and torn to shit when I bouht them. Just from being in a trailer on tour. They were never played though, basically brand new, but all torn up. Guy was given 8 Randalls, had to spread the love.

Yeah, I was in a band and we didn't have a trailor. We were basically loading the cabs (before I got my hard shell case and cap for my truck) in an SUV. The bassist insisted on getting an 8x10. I suggested he did because 2 4x10s would be easier to gig out with.

Well, big suprise when he ripped 1/2 the tolex off 1 side of his then brand new 8x10 before we even got to the venue.

LULZ.

I hear you with the 8x10 hassel.

Oh yeah, I want to say that the hard shell case weighs around 80 lbs.

I did some looking online and couldn't find any weight estimates.

Nice score. Things can be had for cheap on Craigslist right now - I picked up a 1982 Ovation for $25 last week.

toggletoggle post by metal_church101  at Jul 9,2009 11:26am
You needed some firewood? :-)

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Jul 9,2009 11:27am
Bassists need to shut up and go direct. Tee hee.

toggletoggle post by sinistas   at Jul 9,2009 11:27am
I expected it to suck, but plays and sounds awesome. I do a lot of acoustic stuff, so I needed something better than my Yamaha.

toggletoggle post by metal_church101  at Jul 9,2009 11:30am
nice

toggletoggle post by Eli_hhcb at Jul 9,2009 11:33am
so the case weighs as much as the cab, burly!

craigslist is the only place i've gotten gear. expect for ebay. true story.

Damage to cabs is just a part of the game to me. My cabs always get the shit beat out of them, too hard to take care of when you're plaýing a lot of shows.

Yep!!!!!

2/3 of the tolex was ripped off 1 side before we even left the driveway.

To top it all off, I had an extra hard shell case for an amp head that I was gonna sell, until I realized it fit my Krank.
