I'm going to retube the Bad Cat Lynx.

It's powered by 2 EL34s, which can be substituted with KT77s.

I'm think of switching to the Genelex KT77, because there is apparently a little more low end.

Anyone have any experience EL34 powered amps? with KT77s? I don't feel like paying a $500 for NOS Mullard el34s (I know I bought a Bad Cat, but I haven't reached the level of commitment to spend that much on tubes)...but I may get a pair of the new Sensor re-issues as a backup. Or other more affordable el34s you may recommend?

I totally approve of this decision. You'll basically be getting the best of both el34s and 6l6s. KTs are super underrated tubes. Oh and mullards are for corksniffing 50+ers.

I support your decision fully. Makes sense to me. Nos Mullard is over priced, I don't care who claims they are the best.
