ATTENTION METALHEADS WORLDWIDE

The American space agency is naming a new piece of its space station, called a node. They are letting Internet users vote on what that name should be.

Most people are ignoring it. Metalheads are not. If we act together, we can make them name it after something close to the surly heart of every metalhead... SLAYER.

All of us voting for SLAYER shows that there's a metalhead culture that cannot be ignored -- and possibly, could get a piece of space history named after that groundbreaking metal band.

i checked the results and it looks like it's going to be named "Serenity" (might have a lot to do with the excellent sci-fi movie) but..i did vote for slayer.

Gotta say that I was torn between slayer and serenity. Having it called Serenity would be a nice touch, though having it called Slayer would be kinda awesome. Since Serenity seems to be winning anyways, I voted Slayer.

No matter what happens, Slayer will not be the winner. I am pretty sure that the U.S. Goverment wont let a trilion dollar space station be called "Slayer". I hope it does tho

Seriously though, if I knew it was an Internet contest, I wouldn't try to rally people around anything musical, I'd go for something like "Tubgirl" or "Goatse" or something else along those lines.

They should name it the best band name on Earf! That of course being PANZERBASTARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unity, Harmony, Slayer. It has a nice flow to it.

Serenity would be cool but Slayer would be amazing. Like someone said, don't matter what the internet says no way they name a gazillion dollar space station node 'Slayer'

i'm with Lamp. Unity, Harmony, and Goatse flows so much better than Slayer.
