Images of people flocking to Washington in the dead of night chanting just doesn't remind me of anything I can really pin down to our form of government.
pretty much. wait until he screws something up and a white guy criticizes him. i'm looking forward to what Obama could do, but this could be a tense 4 years.
They say the next antichrist will preach and bring peace, and be praised by the masses. Soon after though he will bring the apocalypse. Who would have thunk a negro would be the antichrist?

Are we anointing this dude king today?
Welcome to the third world.
Spacy, uplifting, cheerful images... and brutal decay while the elites rape your ass.
i hate the way it is being treated like oscar night. i'm expecting "this is E! live at the red carpet on inauguration day. let's see what tom cruise and katie holmes are wearing tonight." i saw that abc was planning continuous coverage from 5am-nightline. i don't remember the inauguration being whored out like this before.
another thing that i found annoying was last night on channel 5 news, one of the stories was "find out how much your obama merchandise will be worth." i didn't realize the value of newspaper clippings, spiderman obama comics, and action figures were what's important here. no wonder the rest of the world hates us.
look on the bright side of things. whether or not you like obama, the country is feeling "uplifted" because of this. it's better to feel that way about our progress than to dig ourselves deeper. either way, we're doomed.

seriously!! this is insane. the other thing that irked me was last week or so there was an article about the possibility of getting rid of the 22nd amendment stating no president can have more than two terms. the guy isn't even in office yet and they are already saying he should be eligible for a third term. argh.
repealing the 22nd amendment would be a huge mistake. not that i think obama is going to be horrible, but imagine if some religious nutjob got continually elected by stupid people.
this inauguration is more of a fashion show/extravagant event for celebrities to pat themselves on the back and position themselves to make more money.
william henry harrison caught pneumonia from not wearing a coat during his speech, which lasted well over an hour. he ended up dying in office 30 days later.
I'm more amused by the 180 turnaround of so-called dissenters/speakers of truth-to-power. Now it's ok to be patriotic and not cool to bad-mouth the president, I guess.
Shit's hilarious.
Case in point: Will.I.Am suddenly not brave enough to keep his original lyrics during the inauguration when comparing the CIA to terrorists.

fuck those pussies. true dissenters talk shit even when there is no reason to.
Mailboxes drip like lampposts in the twisted birth canal of the coliseum
Rim job fairy teapots mask the temper tantrum
O' say can you see 'em
Stuffed cabbage is the darling of the Laundromat
'N the sorority mascot sat with the lumberjack
Pressing passing stinging half synthetic fabrication of his-- Time
The mouse with the overbite explained how the rabbits were ensnared
'N the skinny scanty sylph trashed the apothecary diplomat
Inside the three-eyed monkey within inches of his toaster oven life
In my mind
I'm half blind
My inner ref
Is mostly deaf
I'm smell impaired
If you cared
My sense of taste is wasted on the phosphorescent orange peels of San Francisco axe-encrusted frenzy
So let me touch you
Let me touch you
Let me touch you
Let me touch you
Where the Ro-yal Jelly gets made
Coleratura singers bringing weeds and social clingers
Hangers-on and fancy flingers
To the dress ball
Mushrooms and bowling pins
Stove pipe hats and other things I can't recall
From Juvenile hall
We're so unlucky and stuff
Woodrow Wilson never had it so tough
Dairy Queen and Vaseline and Maybelline
Paul Bunyan and James Dean
Allegory agencies of pre-Raphaelite paganry
And Shenandoah tapestries
Compared with good mahogany
Collapsing the undying postcard romance
With feline perspicacity
By the university
That night I held a paucity
Which you deemed common courtesy
I wasn't what you thought I'd be
I shouldn't have invited you to dance
In my tree
I'm halfway free
And in my chair
One quarter there
In my dream
One-sixteenth cream
In the coffee of the Courtier
Of the sycophant assistant to the king
So let me touch you
Let me touch you
Let me touch you
Let me touch you
Where the Ro----yal Jelly gets made
I must say - and although I knew it was coming - that it still makes me angry that they say God and God Bless and "Let us Pray" during ceremonies such as this.

Not perfectly written but an interesting read nonetheless.http://www.lulu.com/content/2325554
that actually doesn't look interesting at all.
I'm getting really tired of conspiracy theories.
So by that logic, if it's not reported on the evening news it's automatically a conspiracy theory? Information provided in this book can be corroborated with individual research. I'm beyond tired of major media outlets peddling their own brand of truth and biased information.
Here's a conspiracy for you: Duping the majority of U.S. citizens into believing that a new face in the White House is going usher us into a utopian era.

First off, that book's blurb already is mired in inaccuracy, as Obama's plans would not truly aid Wall St., in fact, it would be an example of government restricting the financial market, not allowing it to bolster itself independently. Many prominent economists (like Schiff mentioned in the other thread) believe his policies could actually crush the private sector.
Secondly, Obama went to Harvard, not Yale, which is the center of Skull and Bones lore and supposed power. Why wouldn't they have chosen one of their own?
Thirdly, a new face ushering us into a utopian era isn't as much of a making of Obama's as it is of the Bush Administrations' alienation from the American trust and approval.
Lastly, just because someone did some research and wrote a book doesn't mean they aren't wrong. Holy Blood, Holy Grail rocked the historical and faith-based communities in the 80's by proclaiming direct evidence provided by trusted and powerful sources of a cover-up of the life, role, and importance of Jesus Christ, and purporting some sort of bloodline. By their next book, Baigent, Leigh, and Lincoln had to demolish their own points because their source relented his ruse and admitted the whole thing was a hoax.
I'm not saying not to believe anything, because even in the case I provided Leigh, Lincoln, and Baigent raised excellent points and really pushed for greater insight, but the most important thing is if you read something interesting and opening, RESEARCH FOR YOURSELF.
p.s. That book doesn't seem just pure conspiracy theory, more like an attempt to connect dots that really don't have a connection. So not only is it poor written, it's poorly researched.
I must say - and although I knew it was coming - that it still makes me angry that they say God and God Bless and "Let us Pray" during ceremonies such as this.
SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE DOES NO EXIST
I want to agree with you, but as much as you and I don't believe, they (say they) do. Since they're giving the speeches, they have a right to include and embrace their beliefs in said speeches. We have a right not to give a shit because we've developed a sense of non-idiotic self.
Yea, that I can agree on. They do express their beliefs. But it almost seems like it's forced due to trandition. The majority of Americans have faith, so I guess it's reassuring to hear their leader give praise.
On a side note, now that we've got a black president, next on the list will be to elect an ATHEIST president. I'd like to see that happen in the next 50 years.

I think Obama is the first to include "non-believers" in their inaugural speech. That was cool at least.
The Reverend Old Black Guy who did the benediction was funny at least.
Both Obama and McCain championed themselves as savior's of the Wall St. bailout, so I would say he's already off to a good start, in that respect. Also, the book doesn't say that he went to Yale, nor does the blurb. "Obama’s economics are pure Skull & Bones/Chicago school austerity and sacrifice for American working families". That's just drawing a comparison. For me, I'm simply interested in his connections with Brzezinski, his rise towards the presidency from relative obscurity, and having never won a prior contested election. President's are place men, continuing agenda's that have been devised before they even take office. President's are placed on the front lines while those who actually fashion and dictate the policies go unnoticed. Men who would actually want to execute real "change" could never be president; Bilderberg could never have that.

Skull and Bones/Chicago school hinted to me a weird, not credible connection.
And, by the way, none of those words in this paragraph of yours needed apostrophes.

The hype over the Obama inauguration is just like people flocking to see a beloved band's last show: it's a chance to say you were there. People just can't resist the urge to look cool.
My friends are saying all their black co-workers didnt show up to work today. Yeah obama be president I dont gotta work no mo!!!
...or they wanted the day off to watch history be made.
History isn't being made.
Nations have gone multicultural before... and then all failed. LOL
All those who want multiculturalism: Brazil, Mexico, North Africa, India, Iraq, Malaysia and other scintillating places want you to come visit. See the multicult in action.

As far as I'm concerned, the party ended the second this guy got elected. I voted for Obama but with a pretty large dose of skepticism. This inauguration ceremony isn't history for shit. History is what he's going to do now that he's been given the chance.
The globalization of modern society itself seeks multi-cultural communities now. Everything is modernized and multi-cultural now. Whether a country wants it or not, it is bound to be bombarded with people of other cultures. Look at what is happening in France, Germany, England, Spain, and so on. Heritage is an important thing to remember and must not be lost, but at the same time I think multi-culturalism is inevitable. If one does not want to live with another culture and fends them off, then it’s considered as a humanitarian crisis. If violence is used, ethnic-cleansing, genocide and so on.

Its a shame that the media's coverage of this is turning into such a circus. Underneath all that bullshit is a truly remarkable time for this country. A time, where things might ACTUALLY be able to change. I'm fully away he could blow it, but hey...so what if he does. Its not his fault the country is in shambles now and HOW MANY WHITE DUDES HAVE FUCKED UP THE COUNTRY IN THE PAST??
What gets my goat is the people who look at the media's coverage and immediately shine a bad light on Obama because of it. The Media is only doing what the media always does. That has nothing to do with the fact that a black man was elected in a country where just 60 years ago black people couldnt eat in the same place as whites. Anyone who doesnt think that today is a hell of an accomplishment is just plain ole' ignant.
I have nothing really against Obama. I fucking voted for him. I just have something against people who think they are suddenly more entitled because the president looks like them. Its a fucking inauguration. Give me a break. If you want to watch it. Tape it. If you want to see the speeches.?..Look at the news when you come home. Everyone who actually decided to come to work on this total normal non holiday had to pick up the rest of everyones slack who stayed home to wack off over a ceremony. Give me a break...
Don't give me the history being made stuff. He still has a lot to prove to me. Like lets see what he will do. If anything. I'm not holding my hopes up for much. I only voted for him because the alternative was terrifying......
History isn't being made at all. Empires have fallen before. The USA will just join them, and no one will give a shit, and all that Obama memorabilia will rot in the landfill.
I think most people here are embarrassed at how they got hoodwinked by symbolism, and now voted in the most corrupt president in USA history.
That's what's creepy... how people blindly, religiously follow symbols.

technically history IS being made, champ...but i do agree with you
