Awesome. Saw this on the O'Reilly Factor light. Right after a heated argument with Barbara Walters, O'reilly had this as a segment and had a lawyer on the show. They had a HEATED arguement and it was great.

Christians subjugated pagan tribes, stole and perverted their myths, yet cry foul when someone questions their silly beliefs? The Winter Solstice was celebrated long before the tale of "Jesus", which happens to be the most exploited version of a symbolic story that was found all over the world, thousands of years before the name "Jesus" was first mentioned.

"The old god's are not dead, they've just abandoned us."

"Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds,"
I can see how someone could see that statement as hateful. Its all about marketing really.

religion is dumb. *spirituality isn't religion. Athism behaves like a religion. Remember there are leaps of **faith** in scientific method.

I'd argue culture is more enslaving than religion and is often just as arbitrary. What's wrong with being socially enslaved anyways? Some people call that idenity.

as far as publically expressing views goes, people that care are either lawyers or retarded. Both groups need to go away.

Don't forget that a number of Christmas traditions were ripped straight from the celebration of Yule.

I really just wish people would READ about the history and formation of Judeo-Christianity and their ideologies.
It's safe to say that the "religious" texts of old are indeed some of the greatest literary achievements of mankind; however, that does not constitute their backbone. It's all made of metaphorical language; specifically the repetition of numbers and ties to the astrological calendar. It's certainly got millions of people fooled into believing that there is indeed a heaven and hell (which, mind you, a lot of the modern-day imagery of "hell" is taken straight out of Dante's Inferno - a Medieval WORK OF LITERATURE)
But, to each their own.

art and culture applied to religion does funny things.

Indeed. For instance, in regards to Yule / Christmas, comparisons can be drawn between "Santa Claus" and Odin, such as using the imagery of the wild hunt as Santa's trek across the night sky, and his reindeer's correlating to Sleipnir, Odin's eight-legged horse that could traverse large distances.

It's actually quite funny the amount of people who celebrate Christmas / Halloween / Easter(somewhat- look what time of year Easter falls on..) and have absolutely no idea that most of the traditions have Pagan roots.
Modern-day commercialism has ultimately taken over certian holidays, which makes it even more of a smoke screen from the truth.
The only reason why I care about this shit is because I want humanity to move forward... things are looking quite bleak these days, though..

HAHAHAHA

I just reread the article and I guess someone ripped the sign down and tossed it in a ditch. It's been found, though.

Induction or inductive reasoning, sometimes called inductive logic, is the process of reasoning in which the premises of an argument are believed to support the conclusion but do not entail it; i.e. they do not ensure its truth . Induction is a form of reasoning that makes generalizations based on individual instances.[1] It is used to ascribe properties or relations to types based on an observation instance (i.e., on a number of observations or experiences); or to formulate laws based on limited observations of recurring phenomenal patterns.
