hahaha, OK come out of the closet folks--

what do you use? I'm looking for one that'll last more than a year.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Feb 23,2004 11:46am
Ryan from Phantom Limb has one, if you can IM smallbrownratfuck from this site, thats Kevin Limb. He can probably find out for you. Actually tracking down Ry Ry is impossible, he is more elusive then Al Ravage

toggletoggle post by litacore   at Feb 23,2004 11:51am
so they're looking for a drummer now right, 'cos they're switching instrumentz?

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Feb 23,2004 11:52am
they better not be, did they say that somewhere?

toggletoggle post by litacore   at Feb 23,2004 11:55am
on craigslist, it's not on there now though

maybe they changed their minds

toggletoggle post by SmallBrownRatFuck   at Feb 23,2004 11:56am
Well, that's still up in the air. Kamil, the drummer, wants to play guitar (he co-wrote all the songs with Ryan) and has hypothesized us changing formats. We're open to it, but I've expressed concern over the fact that having a live drummer adds to the whole agressive feel.

That, and I think Mortician suxxorz. (uh oh, here comes the flames)

Lemme ask Ryan and see what kinda artificial drummer we use.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Feb 23,2004 11:57am
As the label guy, I vote for Kamil on drums.
I don't know if my vote counts though

toggletoggle post by litacore   at Feb 23,2004 11:59am
I like the current configuration

(listen to Joe!)

toggletoggle post by SmallBrownRatFuck   at Feb 23,2004 12:02pm
I also like the current config, although we could use another guitarrist. Oh, you know what? I'm still waiting for Ryan to get back to me about the Middle East tonight. If he shows, we can discuss it there.

btw, we're also thinking about converting to an ABBA cover band. Well, at least, I proposed it last week. I don't think it went over very well with them. Actually, all I wanna do is play the tambourine and wear bell bottoms.

toggletoggle post by litacore   at Feb 23,2004 12:04pm
haha, I'd kill to hear Phantom Limb cover "Mama Mia" or better yet "Fernando"

toggletoggle post by SmallBrownRatFuck   at Feb 23,2004 12:05pm
Oh, yeah, and Ryan's drum machine is really sweet. He can code the drum parts on his computer (or something like that) and send it over to the actual machine (or vice versa). Its a damn good system and him and I use it to practice when not with Kamil. I think its a Roland. Ryan loves the Roland.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Feb 23,2004 12:06pm
what was Ryan's last name again?

weird...i saw ryan at guitar center on friday..it was nutty!

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Feb 23,2004 12:31pm
Was he with Al Ravage by any chance?

toggletoggle post by Dreaded_Silence   at Feb 23,2004 12:32pm
unfortunately not...but i think they are the same person in different forms...so maybe.......

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Feb 23,2004 12:36pm
hmm, that is an interesting theory.
I bet Al Ravage will have to step out during Phantom Limb's set, and McCracken during Ravage's set.
hmmm

toggletoggle post by Dreaded_Silence   at Feb 23,2004 12:38pm
that is a possibilty
my theory is based upon both men's uncontrollable laughter...have you noticed this too? not much talk...very much laugh

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Feb 23,2004 1:12pm

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Feb 23,2004 1:18pm

i'm guessing it froze up after he hit reply and then maybe went back and hit reply again?

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Feb 23,2004 1:20pm
i think that feature doesnt work on the quick responses

toggletoggle post by Dreaded_Silence   at Feb 23,2004 1:54pm
i think i clicked stop or something by accident and had to reload the page...my fault! sorry

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Feb 23,2004 1:58pm
yeah it works on the qik reply too

yeah dreaded silence that sounds like it would do that...was it freezing up for you?
taking long time after you hit reply? if you find it happens a lot use the non enhanced version, it's faster =)

toggletoggle post by PhantomKamil   at Feb 23,2004 2:08pm
Don't get all your panties in a bunch. Nothing's still in the air. We decided not to do the drum machine, right KEVIN?

If we find another drummer that'll fit, then I might switch to guitar. But I don't see it happening for a while.

toggletoggle post by DeOdiumMortis  at Feb 23,2004 2:11pm
Live drums are way more important than a second guitar. This coming from a second guitarist.

toggletoggle post by SmallBrownRatFuck   at Feb 23,2004 2:29pm
YEAH, we decided not to do the drum machine. (hides in a corner)

It wasn't freezing on me, i just clicked the wrong thing by accident.
I use the non enhanced version at home because my computer at home sucks, but the regular version works fine up here at school

toggletoggle post by morkul  at Feb 23,2004 4:28pm
don't get a drum machine they suck.

toggletoggle post by diamond_dave  at Feb 23,2004 5:36pm
if you want just drums, Boss DR-660. if you want string and piano sounds and all that jazz try the DR-5. it has a 4-track sequencer too. i personally think the 660 is great. it has better drum sounds and you can manipulate them infinitely. i used to play with drum machines before thenightmarecontinues...

toggletoggle post by infuscation   at Feb 23,2004 6:51pm
Man, netscrape blows... trying mozilla... let's see if this works...

I use a DR660. You can use Cakewalk to store the bulk dumps since the memory on the machine itself pretty much sucks ass (haha, bulk dumps... I keep them all in little jars - right before I EAT THEM!!). If you have a laptop, you can also hook the drum machine up to the computer and use the computer as the actual sequencer. I think there are newer versions... the one with orange buttons...

OK I'll try the Boss DR-670. I want to be able to save whole songs. I hope it isn't a piece of shit like their tuners are

toggletoggle post by Kalopsia   at Feb 25,2004 11:57am
hey i have a boss pedal tuner and it works great. boss is a good product (unlike digitech with the exception of their GNX series)

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Feb 25,2004 11:59am

Leroy Brown? Isn't he THE MASTER?

I hear he's got The Glow... I certainly think that he could be The Last Dragon.

toggletoggle post by handinjury at Feb 25,2004 12:30pm
i second the BOSS DR-660, i have 2 of them. but the memory gets eatin up very quickly.

toggletoggle post by litacore   at Feb 25,2004 1:02pm
does it let you delete old stuff?

toggletoggle post by handinjury at Feb 25,2004 3:49pm
yes.

toggletoggle post by litacore   at Feb 25,2004 3:57pm
OK good I was afraid I'd be stuck with the same 100 songs
