Fraud central is jumping tonight! Quick, peel the mlb stickers off those replicas so it looks like you didn't buy them tonight.

Holy crap, I've been waiting my whole last week of following the Rays for this moment!

sox will get rid of tek.
he almost lost it last night when they asked him if it was his last game as a red sox.
they need to make a few changes to the lineup / bullpen if they want to be better.
unsung hero of ALCS: hideki okajima. 7+ inn pitched with no runs allowed

it's too bad Lowell's hurt otherwise his bat would have been in the lineup other than Kotsay's
also, I'm not a huge fan of Lowrie..

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Oct 20,2008 10:24am
I think they'll ask him to take a substantial pay cut and he'll stick around.

If they can get hitting at another position in the off season, it's not necessary to lose varitek

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Oct 20,2008 11:16am
Highlight of the game:

Kotsay breaking his bat over his knee.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Oct 20,2008 11:18am
Kotsay should have broken that bat across the home plate umpire's face for basically taking the bat out of his hand in the 9th, and JD Drew's in the 8th.

truth

toggletoggle post by timma at Oct 20,2008 11:21am
I bet Tek would stay for free if they write into his contact that he can continue to rail Heidi Watney on the regular.

toggletoggle post by aril at Oct 20,2008 11:23am
Heidi Watney will be gone after this season.

Hahahahaha FACT
Too bad it didn't work for Kevin Millar bangin Hazel Mae.

Lowell being hurt was a big drain on the offense. Lowrie is gonna be a good player in the long run. Better then fucking Julio Lugo that's for sure. Keep in mind he made the jump of starting this season in Double A Portland to ending the season as the last batter in game 7 of the ALCS. That's a HUGE leap in one season. I wouldn't worry much about him. The biggest diss on his scouting reports was that he wasn't good defensively. I guess he's pretty much blown that report up so far.

Well a one arm drunken retard covered in barbed wire has better defense than Lugo, so I think he'll do just fine.

toggletoggle post by mortalis  at Oct 20,2008 4:18pm
would the team be in a different situation had they kept manny? one thing's for sure, close games have a different feel with a bat like that in your lineup.

toggletoggle post by aril at Oct 20,2008 4:19pm
Nah, I think the clubhouse was being dragged down by Manny. even though his bat is awesome, the morale of the team wasn't.
it's going to be very interesting what happens in the offseason.

we'll never know, but it shouldn't be easily dismissed. bill simmons wrote an article on the issue, and raises some really interesting points.
