my Gibson V bass is my pride and joy, but its case is for shit.

It's totally falling apart.

It's not the sort of thing where I can just buy a Coffin Case or Hot Topic diaper for it. Does anyone know any custom shops where they won't charge Metallica prices?

I was thinking of trying to find a carpenter to reinforce/restore it, but down the road it'll probably just fall apart again.

any thoughts?

I just googled "luthiers + MA" and this is what I got:

http://www.banjowizard.com/luthiers.htm

Looks like a couple of possibilities in the area.

Larissa,
I can help with that I think... If you'd like it restored I know I can help.
I used to do custom car audio (custom boxes, redo interiors, so I know how to work with fabrics) plus I have a construction company that I specialize in custom finish work, so I pretty much have 3 or more of every tool that is sold in HD and loews.

Plus I'll pretty much do it for nothing, just buy the materials.

Rob I think I will take you up on that indeed.

will get in touch, THANKS!

you're gonna laugh your ass off when you see it. The handle is totally stapled on and the rest is reinforced with duct tape and a scrap of T-shirt

It's just that I love that damn bass so much I wanna take better care of it

some st00pit bitch borrowed it one time and chipped a huge piece off the goddamn headstock.

I was not pleased.
