im with you on the third party thing though, i strongly believe a major reason political discourse in this country is so retarded is the fact that we only have two parties which do a poor job of representing the opinions and needs of real people. that being said i will continue to vote democratic whilst holding my nose

Here's just one. he supports a ban on handguns, he voted to prohibit gun stores from within 5 miles of all schools in parks...which means you'd have none in most of the country.

don't get me wrong, i am all for the right to bear arms, hell i'd support legislation to arm bears, but thats just not a critical issue for me, if i lived in the kind of place where i would need/want a gun i think it'd be easy enough to have one illegally kept in a discrete place just like i keep my illegal drugs. unless that is, the turner diarys come true and obama sends an army of negros out to confiscate all dem white folks guns, lulz.
furthermore the NRA has a lot of lobbyists in congress, and democrats are known for being spineless, i feel like even with a dem congress and obama in the white house they would have a tough time passing any serious anti- gun legislation.
anyway, what i really care about is healthcare reform, education, more subsidies for research into alternative energy sources, (and less for drilling in wildlife preserves) protecting the environment at any cost, and keeping religion the fuck out of government (i realize obamas been courtin the fundies, but i still think any democrat is gonna be better on this than any republican)
