The Natron cover of "Message in a Bottle" that I heard a few days ago was horrendous. Uggh.

the best original take on a legendary metal song is "Prelude to Ruin" by Spiral Architect... its a cover of the legendary Fates Warning. not only do they make the beginning acoustic, but its goes into blasts from there, and then into the verse and onward like fates warning did it... but almost 2 times as fast. its amazing.

I wouldn't say best, but some damn good ones is Slayer doing Inagaddadavida, and Tomahawk doing I just want to love you by Justin Timberlake.
Worst, there are too many to think of just a few.
