I've had luck with staffing companies, but they definitely have downsides. So far, I've gotten three jobs (assignments) within a week of letting them know I'm looking. They're not always long term, though. So far I've been lucky. I start at a law firm on monday, and I'm finishing an assignment at a big insurance company this friday.

Certainly worth looking into.

I'd do that whole Canobie thing except that a lot of that money I'd be making would be going to paying for gas to and from. I got paid under-the-table once for roof construction. It mans you up, too. under the table wages at 12 bucks an hour = NO TAXES .. not bad for a summer job when you don't have a degree yet.

$10/hr putting printed product in boxes at the end of a printing press. Dying in Iran/Iraq might be a better option.
