Call me Hank Williams Jr. Cuz I'm ready for some football.

Dolphins/Cardinals super bowl next year. Cards win it with a safety, final score, 2-0

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Apr 15,2008 9:04am
haha speaking of Dolphins and safeties. The Dolphins currently have 9 safeties on their roster.

toggletoggle post by SkinSandwich at Apr 15,2008 9:06am
I hate them. They smell like 10 month old hamburger helper and unwashed vag.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Apr 15,2008 9:16am
They suck. I don't care if they do have Parcells making their calls now. Parcells will be dead, and buried before this team is ever relevant.

The Patriots have the easiest schedule in football. Haha.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Apr 15,2008 9:51am
playing miami, the jets, and buffalo twice a year will do that for you.

People said that about last season. They also beat the Chargers, the Colts, the Steelers (who lost to the Jets), the Redskins, the Cowboys, the Giants, and the Browns in the regular season. Those were all playoff teams with the exception of the Browns who had 10 wins (and were one of only a handful of teams in history to have 10 wins and not make the playoffs).

It's not their fault that the AFC East sucks.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Apr 15,2008 10:22am
exactly, aside from the other afc east teams, the pats had a tough schedule last year. even shitty baltimore turned out to be a tough opponent because they were motivated to try and take out the undefeated season.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Apr 15,2008 10:23am
I was thinking about that game this morning. I'll probably hate that team forever because of what a bunch of marys they were about that game.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Apr 15,2008 10:29am
baltimore has no one to blame but themselves for that loss. they would have beaten the pats if they hadn't taken so many stupid penalties.

the browns are gonna be nasty next year, look out

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Apr 15,2008 11:27am
if favre comes back, i hope someone shoots him. i like the guy, but enough is enough. he loves the media attention and it's getting annoying.

toggletoggle post by SkinSandwich at Apr 15,2008 1:15pm
umm, I am seeing nothing about this. Not even on nfl.com

He still hasn't filed for retirement, but he's also said outright that he has no plans to come back.

It was just leaked that there's a possibility of a Browns vs. Eagles thanksgiving game. That'd be a good one. I like the Browns. I love Romeo Crenell. I hope they have a great season and lose to the Pats in the AFC Championship.

i know its preseason and all but i wanna see how ugly the pats/giants will get

Hey cool, the Pats get 4 practice games before they have to play the Chargers.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Apr 15,2008 2:33pm
they only play 4 good teams: pittsburgh, indy, seattle, and san diego. maybe they'll go undefeated again.

see i wouldnt even call seattle a threat, but the other teams are legit

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Apr 15,2008 2:54pm
yeah, seattle's not really a threat and comes from a weak division, but i called them good because they had a winning record last year and made the playoffs. the other 3 teams are much better.

toggletoggle post by W3 nli at Apr 15,2008 2:59pm
well its like our division i mean someone in the west had to win.

esp if youre playing the injuried Cards, Rams and 49ers

toggletoggle post by W3 nli at Apr 15,2008 3:01pm
oh and in all seriousness the steelers are only a threat if willie parker is over his injury from last season otherwise the brownies are taking that division.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Apr 15,2008 3:02pm
i hope the browns win that division this year. i hate pittsburgh

well its not like the ravens improved and again no runningback for the steelers mean they might only make the playoffs..fucking one and done

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Apr 15,2008 3:09pm
yeah, the ravens are crap, pittsburgh could struggle without parker, and the queen city kitties are looking like a mess with the chad johnson situation.

toggletoggle post by W3 nli at Apr 15,2008 3:18pm
oh yeah haha the begals fuck them and FUCK DIRTBURGER

toggletoggle post by aril at Apr 15,2008 3:24pm
2 back-to-back road games on the west coast may be a little difficult though

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Apr 15,2008 5:05pm
Nobody has mentioned the Broncos who, although they are without a doubt a miserable hopeless football team, have upset the Pats consistently over the last few years. The Seattle game is going to hinge on a couple of things: a. will Holmgren spread the field and go with the pass first offense he had going towards the end of last season, or will he get more conservative now that they have Alexander and Julius Jones in their backfield. b. How will the new defensive backs work out in the Pats D?

i have a feeling they're gonna loose a game on purpose so they don't have the pressure...
but probably not... hopefully this year they actually play in the superbowl game. instead of just sitting there.

I think it's funny that people had the same stupid criticism of the Patriots playing in a weak division even in the year that the Jets made the playoffs.

And not much separates the AFC East from some of the other divisions. If you look at the combined wins of teams in their respective divisions that didn't make the playoffs you get

AFC East: 12 Wins
NFC South: 17 Wins
NFC West: 16 Wins
AFC West: 15 Wins

Granted 12 combined wins between 3 football teams playing 16 games a piece is pitiful. But had a few key factors been different (JP Losman staying healthy, Ronnie Brown staying healthy, the dolphins not squandering a draft pick on Ted Ginn, Chad Pennington staying healthy, the Jets actually hiring a football coach) those numbers very well might not have been what they were.
