My sliding glass door did that last year, really fucked up. Luckily it has 2 sides of glass, after cleaning up the broken side I didn't even replace it, so much money..

I would just clearcoat over the broken glass. It looks pretty sweet.

that's what I'm going to do for now... but the argon in between the panes is now gone. that means convection currents will set up inside of the glass and cause massive heat transfer.

Once when I was a little kid I was shooting a BB gun in my buddies back yard all afternoon one day. I never noticed that in the back drop of my target there was a 2nd floor sliding glass door at a neighbors house. I just remember hearing a pop and seeing the thing turn white and riddled with cracks in an instant. I denied any and all involvement.
