I got a dell with a gig of ram, 250 gb HD, AMD X2 4000, and geforce 6150 for $320 with free shipping.

not exactly the most loaded computer, but it's pretty quick and for 330 bucks it's not a bad deal.

Welcome back, Nic.

that price was for just the tower right? i normally don't like dell and don't recommend them but sometimes they have some pretty good deals and when they stick to standardized parts they can be decent computers.

...i've just dealt with too many idiots who buy a shitty dell and wonder why it doesn't work the way they want, oh and dell is by far the #1 repair i see.

Yea, it was just the tower. I already have an awsome mouse keyboard and monitor.

I have nothing but good things to say about it.

I just needed to grab something quick so I looked for the absolute cheapest brand name computer I could (there are a couple cheaper kits by companies I've never heard of floating around the internet)

The Dell was cheaper then gateway, HP, compaq, etc by a fair chunk of change and in most of the literature i read, Dell had scored higher in customer satisfaction. I figured for 330$ why not.

The only problem I have is there are no ports to connect my old hard drive in so I don't know how the hell I'm going to get all my stuff into this computer.

What kind of Dell is it? I want to see if it has an IDE port on the motherboard.

toggletoggle post by Niccolai   at Nov 24,2007 10:04am
Inspiron 531
