I guess this is the name of the new movie. It is set in 1957. I saw some pictures and Harrison Ford doesn't look that old. I'm sure it will be good. Supposedly coming out in May.

Memorial Day. Abner Ravenwood is in it, and i don't know how considering he was dead in Raiders. i'm sure they'll make his appearance awesome. he is played by John Hurt, the same guy who played the Professor in Hellboy.

And he played the dude in Alien who had the alien pop out of his chest.

If you go to the website for the new movie it plays the music...that gets me pretty pumped.

Do it, one of my favorite childhood memories is being pulled out of Kindergarten and told that my grandmother had died, and as we're driving away from the school finding out that it was all part of my dad's elaborate ruse to skip out of work and take me to see The Last Crusade on opening day.

Wow - I can't believe it's been 18 years since that came out. Yeesh.

i used to pretend i was indiana jones when i was a kid. i will go see this movie.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Sep 12,2007 3:24pm
one of the gems in my old school toy collection is the Indiana Jones Micro Machines set. the best being the tank from the end of Last Crusade.

"whats that?"

"the Ark of the Covenant"

"are you sure?"

"pretty sure"

toggletoggle post by Dankill at Sep 12,2007 4:41pm
I heard that it involves Indy and Co. racing to some Alien artifact and outwitting those pesky Soviets.

There was a kid in my neighborhood (I must have been like 10) that was playing Indiana Jones. Apparently his buddy was lowering him with a rope from a tree. Well these geniuses didn't fasten the rope very well, so it slipped up and caught the kid around the neck and he hung until dead. No one cared because the kid sucked -- including me because he tried to steal some of my Hot Wheels cars once. Some excellent Darwinism right there.

That trailer RULES!! I'm also a HUGE Indy fan...this movie is gonna be great!!

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Feb 14,2008 10:33pm
i saw clipses of it on access holywood. looks killer. man i hope they dont fuck it up.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Feb 15,2008 10:38am
i'm banking on Harrison Ford for this one. considering it took 15 years of him denying script after script, to finally say "thats the one". plus, we finally get to learn about Abner Ravenwood, and John Williams came out of retirement to do the score. Spielberg knows he can't fuck this up. unless they got Senor Spielbergo.

toggletoggle post by Kinslayer at Feb 15,2008 10:39am
I'm so psyched for this...Been witing for a trailer for a while now; thanks!

I hope Ford took out his mid-life-crisis earring for this...

toggletoggle post by Kinslayer at Feb 15,2008 10:42am
I'm glad Mariane is his love interest in this one; she was always the best...

No Marcus Brody or Sallah (SP?)...

I hope there's not too much kiddy, funny shit...I mean they were always light hearted movies, but also still dark and cult.

toggletoggle post by SapremiaNJ  at Feb 15,2008 11:25am
Fuckin stoked!

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Feb 15,2008 12:42pm
yeah its too bad there can't be any Marcus Brody, but at the same time i'm glad they didn't try to find a replacement for Denholm Elliot.

2 hour flick
first 40 minutes suck
second 40 are ok
last 40 minutes dont suck as much as the first but are not as ok the middle part

not the worst movie ever but way way worse than what was expected.

warning spoiler

it ends with aliens from another dimension.

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at May 23,2008 2:45am
i really liked this. the "indiana jones is old" thing got as old as indiana jones real fast, though. the story was cool, there were a lot of random leaps made but they tie together with the legend they were pursuing and random beliefs of people in the region. in that aspect it follows suit with the other movies. a few people now have said it seems a bit of a stretch, but isn't a decorated box burning your face off the same fuckin thing just a different name?

the best part of the movie is the thing with the hat at the end. it's like the writer's said "nah hey"

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at May 23,2008 11:44am
i was totally disappointed with this movie. the dialogue was terrible (too many weak attempts at one liners), acting wasnt much better, worst Villian ever, lame and predictable plotline (full of holes), too much CGI, and a complete lack of intensity that made the other films such rewatchable classics. they should have just left the series alone.

toggletoggle post by aril at May 23,2008 11:47am
oh no... too much CGI.. god damn it.
Lucas has done it again.

i found that it was really just the first scene that was lacking...the rest had the classic indy vibe. the only whole in the plot was that indy says "nucular"

i was wicked pissed

toggletoggle post by josh_hates_you  at May 23,2008 2:47pm
mike i think playing sade songs has affected your judgement. this movie was pretty bad.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at May 23,2008 3:11pm
the other part that pissed me off was Marion Ravenwood's constant shit- eating grin throughout the movie that said "Yay! I get to be in movies again!"

toggletoggle post by Yeti at May 23,2008 3:14pm

take a consolation in the fact that most people on this site are wrong about everything.

i'm talking about you considering i know how you are a huge Indy fan. though Mike is, and he said he did like it. this is such a huge movie to me, i'm so apprehensive about it.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at May 23,2008 3:34pm
in that case you might wanna wait till dvd. its a fun movie for the action sequences and stuff but i'd say its dissapointing for obsessive fans hoping to add on to an already perfect legacy of movie brilliance. i put Crystal Skull on the same level of "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles"

toggletoggle post by boine at May 23,2008 3:42pm
it was good I knew about the alien thing going in didnt live up to the others but could have been much worse

toggletoggle post by narkybark   at May 23,2008 4:57pm
I'd put it as the worst of the four. It has moments, and is entertaining enough, but it falls short of Indy-level goodness.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at May 23,2008 5:50pm
a lot of parts looked really fake, which is what it lacked. the original trilogy was all real stunts in real locations and this one had a lot of CGI and soundstaging.

i just read an article saying that speilberg initially was gonna do it the old fashioned way but thought "our digital tools will do the story more justice"

the whole alien thing is totally relevant and i can't wrap my head around why people don't like it. it's just following the beliefs of one type of people and making an adventure around it. every jones movie did that.

definitely the worst of the four, but only by comparison.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at May 23,2008 5:52pm
also, playing one sade song would not affect my judgment as sade is awesome

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at May 23,2008 6:00pm
i'm just gonna go furiously jack off to the original dvds because they are that sexy.

toggletoggle post by Boine(nli) at May 23,2008 6:02pm
ya i dont get why the alien thing bothers people i mean in the one before this he took the holy grail from dead knights to save sean connery

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at May 23,2008 6:05pm
in temple of doom there were people having their hearts ripped out and being kept alive by kali and the sean connery stones

it's really no different...i think that too many people have become picky elitists who are disappointed with anything short of perfection(which is what you knew growing up, apparently)

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at May 23,2008 6:09pm
perfection or GTFO

toggletoggle post by scumfuck at May 23,2008 8:56pm
I'm starting to realize that most new movies that come out that include aliens or time travel are sub par. This movie really wasn't that bad, they managed to stay entertaining and keep it along the same lines of the other movies its just the ending that really pissed me off. The rest of the movie was pretty good

toggletoggle post by Boine(nli) at May 23,2008 9:50pm
did anybody see the special done on the sci-fi channel about the crystal skulls?

toggletoggle post by aril at May 27,2008 11:40am
the movie was entertaining...
there were some really cheesy parts, though.. WTF WAS WITH THAT MONKEY SCENE. THAT WAS SO RETARDED. WHY DID HE HAVE TO MAKE MUTT SWING WITH THE MONKEYS!
I couldn't help but laugh during that part.. it was so absurd.
At times it felt like an Xfiles story rather than an Indy story.

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at May 27,2008 11:41am
if the monkeys weren't there mutt wouldn't have thought of swinging on the vines and saving the day. monkeys ftw

toggletoggle post by aril at May 27,2008 11:42am
It doesn't hold a candle to the Last Crusade by the way.

Knowing that they chose that script for TKOTCS, I would say "He chose...poorly."

toggletoggle post by aril at May 27,2008 11:43am
they should have had Mutt being chased by a Jaguar or something..
Not only did that part smell of retardedness, it also looked extremely fake. Worst part of the movie.

now if you can get over shai lebouf they could do a good job rebooting the series with a new Indiana Jones. personally out of all the young actors in hollywood lebouf fits the role the best.

masterpiece with zombie river phoenix or GTFO.
