I thought buchholz was a better pitcher than Gabbard, so I knew it was a matter of time before Buchholz became a GRADE A major league pitcher... I never expected him to mature this quickly.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Francona puts him in the pen for the rest of the year.... I have my fingers crossed he shoves Tavarez back there, and let this kid go out and pitch at least another start!

i believe they are gonna use Clay for middle relieve the rest of the year. it's similar to Lester being sent to Portland. while both are fully capable of starting in the majors its unnessary at this point to overwork them with a seven game lead. besides clemens just threw out his shoulder and is expected to miss at least his next 2 starts- so the yankee threat continues to diminish (however, if they can find a way to clone Chin Ming Wang they might have a chance)

clay buchholz is much more capable of pitching at the major league level than jon lester, if it were up to me he wouldnt make the playoff roster.
