i'm glad they went with bathory instead of the old school black metal thing that was in the other thread. i'm looking forward to seeing a full set of bathory covers.

The bands being covered on the flyer are just simplified for room. Not all the bands are just covering the band listed on the flyer. I might have new Rich Horror Christmas carols played between the bands.
Rich: Convince Jeff and whoever else from NooseBomb goes to O'Brien's tonight to do this show covering CCR. I'd seriously do it. Our version of Down on the Corner disrupt/crust style is amazing.
Agnostic Front - Victim In Pain
Agnostic Front - Your Mistake
Slapshot - Back On The Map
Negative Approach - Nothing
Negative Approach - Ready To Fight
SOD - Kill Yourself

The show in general, I assume. They asked for a press release/show description and a couple pictures of the bands playing. I picked a shot of PanzerBastard fro the Extreme Noise Terror show and a shot of Witch Tomb from the last time they played the Middle East.
Cocksparrer - Running Riot
Cocksparrer - Riot Squad
Cocksparrer - Because You're Young
4 Skins - ACAB
The Last Resort - King of the Jungle
The Last Resort - Violence in Our Minds
The Oppressed - Ultraviolence
The Oppressed - Riot
The Business - The Real Enemy
Betrayed By All's not allowed to play cock sparrer anymore. And Rampant Decay's not allowed to cover Slapshot anymore... or any other "toughguy hardcore bands" for that matter.
Hey Rich, what's the load in situation like? I'll be running a little late (I have class in Boston till 7, then I need to go home, and grab my car), but the rest of my guys should be there on time.
Halloween is always a good excuse for a band to revert back to its garage roots and play covers again, paying tribute to the bands it started out idolizing. Tonight at O'Brien's Pub in Allston, the cover bill is mostly metal. Rampant Decay channels '80s hardcore bands Agnostic Front and Negative Approach, Betrayed By All plays English metal from the Business and Cocksparrer, Witch Tomb tries out the black metal of Bathory, and the punk/metal group Panzerbastard (above) does Celtic Frost and Hellhammer. So why not start it all off with a little country? Jared Thomas Lord opens the show as Hank Williams. 9 p.m. Tickets: $7. 21+ O'Brien's Pub,

I'm pretty sure the PanzerBastard pic used in the article is this one--

This was probably one of my favorite shows I've played. We had a great time. Thanks so much to all the kids who rocked out with us, or had kind words to say. Although I think more than a few people are gonna be kind of pissed when they realize we're not actually an oi band. hahaha.
that was a fun show. all the bands were awesome. xmikex's dedication of a song to the noise board was hilarious.

I'm still sore.

I had a fucking last at this show. But then I got arrested on the way home and just got out now. All the bands ruled, I can't wait for next year!
post by Kinslayer at Oct 30,2007 2:14pm
What'd you get arrested for?

DUI. Despite passing the breathalizer twice. Complete and total horseshit. And supposedly there's some law that have to wait until 4:30 to get my car from the impound. My birthday tomorrow better be fucking spectacular.
Whaaa? How can they make that charge stick if you pass the breathalizer?

That'd be why my attorney told me not to sweat it. Still, trying to sleep on a hard plastic cot sevral sizes two small for my body with a hugely bright spotlight shining down on me still sucks.
hopefully, you at least got raped out of the deal. how many times do I have to tell you not to start off your interaction with cos by saying "wow, a woman cop. what next!"
Amazing. I had a ton of fun playing Bathory songs (for some reason it sounded excellent up on stage) and every single other band was killer, even the Hank Williams set was great. PanzerBastard are supreme as the Frost, hearing Rampant Decay do a near-flawless cover of "Ready To Fight"....plus getting my Brujeria 7"'s back after 10 years...most fun I had in a while.
haha, yep! That was my first bass. I bought it at a music store in Fairhaven, MA in 1993.

apparently the people on the boston noise board are still crying over a hardcore band covering oi. to me it just seems like a buncha metalheads trying to find something to complain about.
haha, man I really don't know what there is to complain about. I'm not saying my band is great, or that we played ultra tight (definitely not saying that), but everybody I talked to had an incredible time. Random dudes were coming up to us just to tell us how much fun they had. I met some metal kids, some hardcore kids, some older dudes, all kinds of people who were just happy to come out and get weird yelling along to songs that everyone knew.
Some people are just natural born crybabies. Most of those dudes on the noise board are in their 30's, and their days of having real fun at shows has passed them by. If being a snob on a messageboard that nobody outside of the Allston / Brighton cultural black hole cares about is all they have left to hang on to... well then who am I to take that away from them?
