This is the most basic hero story ever, dozens of movies and books use it: boy on farm finds out he has to save woman in distress, he is accompanied by an older mentor who dies at the hands of their enemy as the farmboy is saving the girl, they defeat the enemy together.
There are modifications in each iteration but the core is the same.
