New site? Maybe some day.
can't wait. the only reason I'm able to go is cause of carina.
now, she's sitting at home alone, sick and watching movies.
see everyone there. |
yeah, I have to use the bathroom and there are like 30 million people in line. so I go inside, talk to a ton of people on my way to the bathroom.. still 125252 people... so I step to see if I'm allset at the door and got kicked outside. nothing I said did anything. I even tried what carina says and they still booted me outside. |
ok, for a sold out show, this place isn't too full. it looks like most people are coming at their own pace or something. not too many people in the club yet. |
so they aint letting you in? |
9:30 zozobra
10:30 jesu
11:45 isis |
zozobra is sound checking. |
I got in but I had to go outside with the commoners... let them eat cake! usually I just wait for the line to calm down then go in, but not this time obviously.
zozobra: ok, no wonder no one knows this band. It's cloud(s) that band with old cave in members. They were pretty good. It sounded like rocky and more like jesu. My pictures at great scotts are much better than the crappy pictures I took this time. The bassist (calib) came out playing guitar at first, but then the rest of the band came out after him and played. |
I'm home and woorking on the terrible pictures. my face smells like the inside of rich horror's mouth for some reason. I'm investing in goggles with wipers.
like elton john. |
wish i went to see jesu again. got my fill of isis. |
I'm trying to figure out who the drummer for jesu was. he looks sooooo familiar. I was thinking it was disfear's drummer, but that's not it. |
yeah! I knew I knew him. I found him, it's the drummer for uphillbattle/exhumed/intronaut. |
chances are, these 2 are dead
naw it looks like they were with Mishy, she'll gett'em home or they railed roaded her to death and she's burnt alive in some dumpster and theyre dead on the side of the road or all is well and theyre all playing Clue while enjoying crackers. |
IM ZSTILL DRINING BEERS FUCK YOU FAGGOTS |
oh.. you aren't dead. imagine that. |
what a fucking night. I didn't see the show, but I don't remember too much after leaving the Middle East |
I don't know, but I definitely spat in Aaron's face a lot. |
jesu: pronounced yeah-zoo for those of you who didn't know. I personally didn't know. the set was perfect. the sound was perfect (except the vocals being too quiet). and the song selection was pretty good. jesu played mostly newer stuff from what I could tell. there was one song that they kicked into that had that godflesh sound of the earlier stuff. I figured it was an older song. it was perfect. other than that, they were perfectly polite. they only played for 49 minutes too. I was hoping for something longer.
isis: I knew they were going to boot photogs. I had to go in the sea of the masses to shoot. this is where I saw a friend from college and while I was trying to talk to him, I had rich horror spraying me with beer and the remnants of this creature:
the only song they played that I like and that was on level with jesu was the second or third song which I believe is off oceanic. it was a heavier song and sounds more like neurosis. |
haha, your friend was psyched on Rich Horror. |
did isis end up playing friday night also? |
Yeah, Isis was both shows. They're the headliner. |
cool. i didn't know if the friday show got cancelled or not.
that's pretty gay they didn't let the rev take pics. |

I'm alive too but I don't remember most of the night. So it was a good time. |
Kevord was sprawled out in my living room with some asian broad. I hope he paid extra for the happy ending. |

Technically you did pay, for breakfast. I prefer Jap. |
It's worth an Ihop breakfast. |
no one should get laid after an isis show, ever. |
That Isis is chaste listening makes perfect sense as it follows from the maxim that record collecting is the pastime of the celibate. |

jesu mixed it up pretty well, for a short set. The new tracks they played were Conqueror and Transfigure. They opened with We all Faulter, and also did Friends are Evil off the self titled. Silver was played 3rd I think. They could have used a bit more vocals and the bassists tone wasn't that heavy; other than that, the set kicked ass. ISIS was well...ISIS. As usual; loud, on point, and amazing. Big plus to hear False Light (3rd song of the set) played live again, which was the only Oceanic track. The highlight was obviously the encore, Celestial: The Tower, which hasn't been played around these parts for a number of years. I didn't bother to watch Zozobra, I'd rather just listen to older Old Man Gloom. |
Friends are Evil is a masterpiece of a song. |
