Norma Jean’s Newest Album, Redeemer, Is In Stores Now!

Atlanta, GA’s most audacious cyclone of sonic grandeur, Norma Jean, is proud to announce The Great American Noise Tour starting March 17th and ending April 14th! The band is continuing their grueling touring schedule after their stint on Summer 2006’s Ozzfest Tour, Fall’s Radio Rebellion Tour, and their sold out European Tour (called “The Dirty Southern Blood Tour”, their UK dates garnered a 5k live review in kerrang!). Norma Jean is back and bringing The Chariot, A Life Once Lost, and The Handshake Murders alongside them to tear up the U.S. this Spring. Vocalist Cory Brandan said, “We chose these bands first and foremost because we like them…they’re all good bands that are doing something original musically and we have been wanting to tour with them for quite a while now. We couldn’t be more excited.” The supporting bands all have new material and new albums on the way (The Chariot’sThe Fiancee, in stores 4.3.07, A Life Once Lost’s The Iron Gag, in stores TBA, and The Handshake Murders’ Usurper, in stores 2.20.07) so be prepared to hear tons of brand new music on this tour!

With the release of Norma Jean’s critically acclaimed and Ross Robinson-produced third album, Redeemer, in September of 2006, the band established themselves as one of the noisiest and prolific young bands in metal today. Redeemer is Norma Jean’s most unhinged, soul-baring album to date. No matter how you interpret it, one thing’s for sure – hit play on Redeemer and you will feel it more than any other Norma Jean album. Emotional, spiritual, visceral, physical; this isn’t just the third album Norma Jean wanted to make – it’s the career-defining statement they had to. The Great American Noise Tour will be one of Norma Jean’s most exhilarating tours. Brandan said, “We always try to do something different when we play and this tour won’t be any different, we have all kinds of ideas. All of us in Norma Jean are excited to be back in the U.S. and headlining a club tour. Although we love touring all over the world, home is where the heart is.”

Just one listen to Redeemer confirms the ferocity of Norma Jean’s performances. From the discordant breakdowns and jarring time changes of “The End Of All Things Will Be Televised” to the newfound melodic intensity of “Blueprints For Future Homes,” the album packs some of the band’s best work to date. And though the weird angles and difficult guitar figures that comprised their previous effort, O’ God, The Aftermath, are still prevalent, that album’s refined, very-much-studio feel has given way to raw atmospheres in which you can practically see the sweat running onto the instruments. To see this madness and intensity in person – check out the tour dates below!
