Give me a program I can use to put songs on an Ipod that isn't Itunes.

preferably something small in size that doesn't use alot of pc resources.

none of the substuitutes that I've found so far support the video & photo albums. and all the ones I've found ruin the db on my iPod, and I lose the abillity to watch the movies I have loaded on my iPod

I won't be loading movies or photos on it. It's only my sisters 2 gig nano

I've heard you can use winamp...?

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Jan 5,2007 1:07pm
yeah, you can use Winamp, the latest versions of WinAMP have builtin iPod support, and it works great

Winamp rules. I still use the no-frills winamp. I'm surprised it stayed so great after AOL bought them.

winamp went out of business and locked their doors, laid off everyone... but still develope.. it's weird.

I just started using winamp with myPod. I wish I had this the whole time! iTunes mostly sucks. the only gripe I have about winamp+ipod is that you can't drag songs into playlists on the ipod from your computer's library. you have to put them on the iPod and then right click on the track(s) and send them to playlist blah. I don't like that step.

I'm going to try this winamp/ipod thing, I fucking hate itunes.

Are all of you using a PC? I'm assuming it's because I have a Mac that I have no problem with itunes.

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Jan 5,2007 2:42pm
I use iTunes on PC and it works fine for me, it just feels clunky on a PC.

but then again, I only use iTunes to load stuff on my iPod, I use Winamp for all my listening purposes

Yeah but Mac's are terrible.

I hate iTunes and avoided buying an iPod for that reason. I researched the fuck out of mp3 players trying to find something close to just how winamp works, but found nothing. And now iPod all the sudden works with Winamp? Fuck.

Question about iPod by the way...
With my current mp3 player, I can just copy and paste raw mp3 files from my computer right to the mp3 player, like it's a giant thumbdrive. When you undock the mp3 player and turn it on, all the tracks you just copied over are in the library. You don't have to "sync" them up or anything fruity and illogical. Is iPod able to do this?
