i don't absolutely hate CSDO's music, but i want to hate them because of eric's non-stop temper tantrums over others' opinions. he's got to realize that not everyone is going to like traditional 80s style thrash, and not everyone comes from the same generation. and just because someone doesn't like CSDO, that does not mean they listen to metalcore or are in a shadows fall/killswitch engage tribute band. it just makes no sense at all, and i find it thoroughly comical. eric reminds me of one of those old guys who always talks about what he had to do "back in my day."

comparing throwing shrapnel and CSDO may be like comparing apples to oranges, but from a musical standpoint, throwing shrapnel has the upperhand. they aren't afraid to mix styles and aren't using blueprints for every song so it mirrors some other band. sure, the members of CSDO can definitely play their instruments well, but i liked CSDO riffs better when they were played by nuclear assault.

some of CSDO's boasting would be somewhat acceptable if they did more with their amaaaazing music. if they are so amazing, and i'm sure this has been brought up a million times, why have there been no extensive or even worthwhile tours? no albums put out even independently? how many people know about CSDO outside of new england besides the touring bands they've played with in new england? there are far worse bands that are touring, pressing and circulating both merchandise and music, and most of them are doing it by themselves. if CSDO is so crucial to music, why not put in the extra effort to get the music out there and implanted into other areas/scenes? no one worth shit is going to care what CSDO say about anything until they put their money where their mouths are and make people believe that they're even a real band...and the usual "we're playing with meliah rage, what are you doing?" excuse is no longer expendable nor acceptable.

I just don't see why they're such assholes. Just because you're still in a band in your golden years doesn't make you a pioneer or better than anyone else.

I saw CSDO once back when Exodus played Mark's. They were playing when i walked in and i thought they were some hack tribute band playing old Metallica and Megadeth songs. I tought this because while they were playing, i was singing Metallica songs along to the songs they were playing and they matched up perfectly.
