I'd bet a million bucks that there is a stronger link between rap and violent crime.

not that bad, but they keep calling slayer death metal

yeah that was pretty much straight slander...that professor was the only guy to say anything about kids being fucked up...everyone else couldn't accept the fact that people don't need a reason to be psychotic, they just are

the girl from california's mom was ridiculous...of course it was slayer's fault...they have money and can be sued!

at least at the end that mario dude and benton explained that it's just music, and that if people commit murder, etc. it's because they have legitimate disorders...or are just tools that think they need to fit in

Benton was and is a moron, but the other dude did a good job of explaining it. 'you can count on one hand howmany people invovled in metal do things like this, but the other millions killing have nothing to do with metal'

just seemed like a ton of christian bullshit, that mother of the slain daugher was the worst piece of shit in the world. you can just look at those parents and smell all they wanted was money. "So Slayers sold millions of albums?! lets sue them!" like their daughter was thinking that when those guys killed her. ahhh well the only smart person towards the end saying "hey there's nut jobs in every genre of music." still funny how much press all of a sudden death and black metal have been getting recently

haha the kid was wicked shy when they interviewed him...almost like he was HIDING SOMETHING!

the gorgoroth interview from metal: a headbanger's journey would've been perfect for this

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Sep 15,2006 3:08am
just watched it, some people made it seem like it was totally one sided and was in favor of christian beliefs, but there were many good points in favor of 'death metal' as well throughout by Glen, and even the kid who was jailed for 19 years. worth watching once I would say.

toggletoggle post by DeOdiumMortis  at Sep 15,2006 3:44am
Meh, I watched it too and it was obviously composed without any prior knowledge of anything more underground than Poison and they just grabbed an issue of Kerrang to fill in the blanks and tell them who to find for interviews. Pathetic misinterpretations.

yeah they did allow some good points to be said, but that wasnt the focus. i love the narrators voice and how dramatic he makes everything sound. that dude Michele's crazy eye was more disturbing than anything.

I think it was great that this was on the same time They were talking about the Wacken fest on Vh1. Around the same time they were talking to Mayhem , and then i changed to the Discovery channel in time to see a brief commentary on Mayhem

mayhem on two different channels at the same time?

where are the armageddon trumpets?

toggletoggle post by DeOdiumMortis  at Sep 15,2006 12:18pm
Talking about Mayhem on TV scares soccer moms and thus equals ratings now.

BLACK METAL: On Television for All the Wrong Reasons.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Sep 15,2006 1:02pm
whats good is that this recent surge in attention towards black metal will die down. after it has 0 effect in changing anything, attention will wander somewhere else. like if ebay really bans albums, things will still be going along just fine. it thrived long before Ebay, and will continue long after.

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Sep 15,2006 1:17pm
unless black metal becomes huge...which i could see happening since it's the truest form of rebellion against the "norm"

next thing you know there will be burzum, mayhem, darkthrone, and gorgoroth shirts at "hot topic" and "we got what's hot"

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Sep 15,2006 1:32pm
i just dont see that happening. yeah its rebellious, but in a different way. alot of the ideals arent easy to subscribe too. most teenagers are interested in heartache and shit like that, not a heathen front to obliterate Christianity. its such an extreme that it looks interesting, but to actually fall in line with it is a different story.

they don't HAVE to believe it...just pretend...that's what i meant

all it would take is one band to make it semi-big and then *BOOM* black metal's the next big thing amongst depressed teenagers

you're a loser, marilyn manson is doom metal, because he sings about doomy stuff duh. not death metal. devourment is like this job for a cowboy ripoff and suffocation is a pennsylvania hardcore band, i saw them with xhave heartx. at the met cafe last week.
