i thought the funniest thing was when they dropped Dethklok from the sky and the stage missed the X and landed on the crowd. there were a few references in it, Deads suicide and Cannibal Corpse. good to see the creators have done their research. murderface, murderface, murderface |

Well, yeah. The trends don't really apply to Venture Bros. just because it's such a superior show. |

There will be a lot of metal references in the show because Small (creator) is a metalhead, actually I think some of the guitar tracks in the show are actually him. |

I thought this show kind of ate it. The characters all ran together and the whole thing really went nowhere. Take a show like Aqua Teen for example: good diversity in characters - Frylock is the straight man, Shake is his foil, etc - it gives the jokes a sense of perspective, and while the plot may not go that far at least it goes SOMEWHERE.
I give this show a C- and that's being generous. |

i would give it a chance. i enjoyed it but i see what you mean. it will be disappointing if after a few episodes you dont see some kind of character development. this has potential to be brilliant though. |

I'm pissed that I almost did not watch this show because the sunday telegraph likened the band in the show to such death metal acts as "korn, and linkin park with a little bit of metallic mixed in"
But I watched it and pissed when I saw fintroll's and how they played in the artic circle of norway.
they should introduce the nemesis's more, was that the pope? they should play a spoof on the whole Mayhem thing. |

Aqua Teen is actually very clever. I appreciate it for its complete abstract insanity.

I'll give Dethklok a chance only because I watch Adult Swim so much that I won't be able to avoid it. I guess one the next Metalocalypse episodes involves them fighting trolls. Korgoth is a much more metal show though. |

It's a challenge, since they talk over one another and with bad English, but listen for the word 'hovercraft.' |

Yeah, I watched it a couple times with the captions on, it is funnier when you can "get" what they're saying.
They say something like "he blew his brains in", "no, he blew his brains out, it made a great album cover" - something like that.

I had high expectations on this and the show didn't meet them. I laughed a couple parts and I laughed even more on the new episode that hasn't aired yet but I still think the show as a whole is pretty week. |
