New site? Maybe some day.

I got this guitar from The forum's very own whiskey weed and women.
I traded him a lespaul for it.
When I got it it was in pretty bad shape. the floyd was blocked off with the wrong sized block and it thre off one of the floyd posts, and made the action higher than I've ever seen on any guitar.
Well, I set the foyd up, fixed the post, resined the post, cleaned it up big time, and now it plays like a dream.
that's not a picture of the actual guitar, the actual one is black forest(dark green) and the only picture I have of it is pretty crappy:
it's got a couple of dings and some belt rash on the back, but no major chips and no wood is missing from anywhere.
The only issues with the guitar now is:
1- it's missing the blocks for the locking nut. it stays in tune fine without them.
2- the volume pot is stubborn and hisses when you turn it. I would resolder it, but I don't have a sodlering iron right now.
Also, I don't have the trem bar for it, but I'm sure Hoser would be glad to send you one.
make me an offer. |
|
I always wished these were neck thru....beefy guitar for what it is tho.
|
|
+1. I'm not really a fan of the controll layout though. I don't like having volume knobs, tone knobs, boosters, or coil taps.
Once I sell this, I'm pretty ure I'm going to buy the fixed bridge version of it. the DKMGT |
|
I want that fucking thing in the worst way! |
|
please put some kind of price range on this
hopefully around 300 |
|
Alright. Asking 300.
Will negotiate within a reasonable range. No lowballers please.
My AIM screen name is Xedora. If I don't respond to your IM right away, bear with me. I'm going to be running around all day. |
|
I have that EXACT guitar, I love mine (played it last night at Coos)
if you're considering buying this, DO IT, you won't be dissapointed
(here's mine)
|
|
haha damn if i knew i could have sold it for 300 i would have sold it instead trading.
im sanding down the gtr you gave and stripping the hardware. |
|
The first one pictured has real EMG's in it and the second has EMGHz's in it.
BIG difference right there...
Does the guitar you're selling have EMG's or EMGHz's? |
|
HZ's
The 2nd picture has em. |

Seriously?
that thing is like $700 new. |
|
just this past year jackson started making them with active EMGs.
the one up for sale has HZ4s. Not very much different than the 81 tonally.
The guitar wasn't worth 300 in the shape I got it in, but after unblocking, fixing the posts, seting it up, and cleaning the shit out of anything I'd estimate it at around 250-300. The bridge saddles weren't even in the right spot for some reason, lol.
The aria was worth pretty much the same amount. They cost about the same new as well.
If I ended up keeping that Aria, I was going to sand it down and put black hardware on it. |
|
i know mark richards has been looking for something possibly, for a great deal like that he might be interested? |
|
up
250$ cash.
I need to get rid of this thing and som other shit to put together a downpayment on my new jeep. |
|
sold
ill pm my phone number i can pick it up today |
|
Alright cool, I'll call now. |
|
I also have a neckthrough MH250 for sale for 350$ and an MH400NT for 450 is anyone's interested. |
|
this guitar is sick cant stop playing it
i tried re-soudering but my iron didnt even melt the fac. souder! ha!
(and his others for sale are mint! i seen em with my own eyes!) |
|
I'd say yank out the stock electronics in place of either an 81 pair, or an 81/85 pair insted of fixing the HZ's. it's already set up perfectly for an EMG install, so it shouldn't take more then a few minutes to do.
the HZ's are flat sounding, I'm not really an EMG fan, but I do like how over-the-top gainy the 81's are |
|
The H4 is a passive version of the 81 and this perticular guitar has an active booster.
if there is any tonal difference between the 81 and active boosted hz4 at all, it's not worth the 200$ cost of a set of 81s.
Once the volume pot situation is fixed, that guitar will be awsome. |
|
im going to start you off with a traditional low-ball offer of $4, half a handle of malibu rum, and ill hook you up with some appetizers from the 99 in bridgewater. |
|
The 99's appetizers are untouchable by any other appetizer we here on earth posess. |
|
i don't plan on buying the guitar. but i would like to see more pictures of guitars in the woods. i'll offer you $200 and i'll split a plate of southwestern eggrolls with you. |
|
99 buffalo fingers are the best thing ever. i would also like to see some more guitar in the woods pictures. maybe after a few beers so their inhibitions are gone and they can just go for it. |
|
i cant believe people are talking about the 99 wings here, it really brings a tear to my eye. i heart the boneless buffalo wings and the buffalo chicken sandwich (which i had tonight, w/ loaded baked potato). |

Puleeeeease.
Do yourself a favor, and go to the Outback and get a cheese fries, coconut scrimp or a Tassies Buffalo Chicken.
Youll never look at 99 the same. |
