I actually dig the original version...especially how they released it: a CD or 12" or limited 7"s...I mean, that's a cash in also but to reissue this with a bunch of newer/more marketable/built-in-fanbase bands thrown in is totally gay. Bleeding Through? Black Dahlia Murder? fuck off. It was great with just the likes of BBTS, Anodyne, Playing Enemy, etc...

they were like

"who would coalesce, planes mistaken for stars, and converge usually play with, given the chance? I GOT IT: Bleeding Through, Remembering Never, and Zao!"

I'll never listen to it. Don't want those fucks ruining black flag.

toggletoggle post by silky  at Apr 29,2006 1:31am
it would be nice if bands who actually like black flag were involved. that shit is sacred to me. greg ginn ruins guitar's lives.

although, zao doing black coffee... I'm not the biggest zao fan, but that song fucking rules, and they might be able to pull it off. no one should cover depression except for me.

Abhorred should be on this.

I got this 3 years ago.
the converge track is great.
same with the bbts.

the rest I forget.

I very much enjoy the original release of this. It was almost like a perfect tribute record, every bands cover on it is killer. However the addition of these new bands is only going to taint the track flow. I mean Bleeding Through, give me a break!

Damn does Dillinger Escape Plan always jump on a tribute album or something. They were on the Guns n' Roses one too.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 4,2006 12:17pm
so wasn't most precious blood and bleeding through

toggletoggle post by wade at May 4,2006 12:17pm
the original was awesome. the motivations behind the first tribute were honest. this re-do is lame and a slap to not only Black Flag but the bands on the first one.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 4,2006 12:58pm
I don't remember give up the ghost being on the original. I thought it was american nothing

my favorite track is undoubtedly "Drinking and Driving" by Burnt By The Sun.
