Because it's an amazing place. The upper castes are like aristocratic Italians: very good people, with a depth of knowledge of history and spirituality that's quite impressive.
I realize that most people in America see Indians as Mexicans who can program computers (badly), but these are not the best or even close that India has to offer. Much as there are smart people in Mexico even if the average Mexican laborer here is stupid, dirty and lazy, there are many great people in India even if the average Indian programmer here is disorganized, incoherent and smells like curry.
