Bury Your Dead Put Finishing Touches On New Album,
In Stores July 11th

Tour With Devildriver in May ‘06

After locking themselves in Florida’s Audiohammer Studios with producer Jason Suecof (God Forbid, Trivium), Bury Your Dead are nearing completion of their new album, tentatively titled “Beauty and the Breakdown”. With the recording completed and mixing about to begin, anticipation for this follow up to 2004’s Cover Your Tracks and 2005’s Alive CD/DVD release has begun. Suecof wasted no words in describing the new album, announcing that “I would just like to say that this is the heaviest fucking album I’ve ever gotten to work on.”

Guitarist Slim B spoke for all of Bury Your Dead when he said recently, “As a band, we feel this record is the equivalent to Dr. Dre’s The Chronic. We are excited as hell about this record – Jason challenged us to try new things and pushed us to do some things that may surprise people, while retaining and building on our sound. We can’t wait to get back on the road and start playing live again, but recording has been the best experience possible.”

A lot has happened to Bury Your Dead since the release of Cover Your Tracks in October of 2004, from incredible tours to magazine coverage in Revolver, Alternative Press and Outburn. Bury Your Dead were called “Destructive hardcore with blunt, pronounced lyrics and delicious breakdowns…” by Kerrang! Magazine, and spent the summer of 2005 on the most successful metal tour of all time, Ozzfest.

A line-up change occurred recently and Bury Your Dead are pleased to announce their new bassist, Aaron Patrick. As a band that made their name as an explosive live act (documented on last years’ Alive CD/DVD, recorded and filmed at Chain Reaction in Orange County), touring is second nature. In May the “Burning Daylight Tour”, Devildriver will headline with Bury Your Dead in direct support, raging across the U.S. with Remembering Never, If Hope Dies and Artimus Pyledriver. All dates will be announced soon.

I'd do it at half my usual cost.

I hope BYD sees this and throws food at me.

i like their song "magnolia"...it gets stuck in my head a lot

toggletoggle post by jared_the_zompire  at Mar 28,2006 4:25pm
I can only imagine what this is going to sound like.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Mar 28,2006 4:27pm
probably like cover your tracks...maybe with clean vocals

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Mar 28,2006 4:45pm
I'm pretty sure this is going to sound exactly like the last album, but I doubt they will have clean vocals.

I don't like them, but I know they don't pretend they're writing the most important music in the world. I mean, they compared this album to Dr. Dre's "the chronic"

throwing food at maiden does make me want to kill them all though.

BYD started as a joke band (go figure) and when they started making money they kept going. but noone who likes them likes them because its a joke. fucking retahded. oh and someone should curbstomp the whole lot of them for throwing food at iron maiden.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Mar 28,2006 5:18pm
i'd throw food at iron maiden and if they got pissed i'd tell em not to take themselves so seriously

did any of that actually happen? i thought it was all a rumor

toggletoggle post by mOe @ work at Mar 28,2006 5:18pm
who cares if they threw food at Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden doesnt give a shit about you. Cover Your Tracks is catchy stuff and Castillo is a nasty drummer. I'll most likely give the new one a listen for lack of anything better to do at the time.

toggletoggle post by mOe @ work at Mar 28,2006 5:19pm
there was food thrown @ maiden, but BYD sewars they didnt do it

for amatter of fact bury your dead goes into "dropped c" tuning and thats what they have perfect the low C and they may have to go into low B and detune a 7 string to be cool..... Bury your dead not .... how many times are they gonna say that in a song this time around... i think if mat forgets the words he just saids "bury your dead"

I just happen to be a Bury Your Dead fan...and I know I'll probably get slammed just for putting that out there. I'll admit they don't make amazing music, but I whatever, it's fun to dance to.

Even I happen to think that if they do the same thing on this album as they have for the past 2 albums, it'll be ridiculous and I probably won't listen to it. But if somehow they build on thier sound and do something different while still making it wasy and fun to mosh to it, I think it'll be worth it. We'll just have to see...

the bottom line is that Mark, Slim B and Eric could out play 75% of the turds on this board that constantly talk shit. Dont be mad at them for having fun and not taking everything they do SO seriously. They're great guys and are merely enjoying what they do and actually taking it somewhere.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 16,2006 4:51pm

i don't fault them for enjoying their success. the kids in that band that i've met have always been good to me. in fact, i went to bury your dead shows way way before anybody cared. the first BYD show I went to had about 8 people at it. the rest of their current fanbase was on their way to the mall to buy their first from autumn to ashes cds. but musically they're a nu metal band, and im just not into it. and victory records can eat my ass until the end of time.

i just saw the trackslisting for this...are they gonna go with some cheesy theme for their song titles for every cd they do now?
01 - "House Of Straw"
02 - "A Glass Slipper"
03 - "The Poison Apple"
04 - "Twelfth Stroke Of Midnight"
05 - "Trail Of Crumbs"
06 - "A Wishing Well"
07 - "Let Down Your Hair"
08 - "Mirror, Mirror..."
09 - "Second Star To The Right"
10 - "The Enchanted Rose"
11 - "House Of Brick"

toggletoggle post by xmikex at May 18,2006 11:56am
see that's the thing with BYD. they were always fun to go see, but even since the beginning it's all been a big joke on its own fanbase. great for them for having a sense of humor, really, but I have a real rough time considering a band that writes songs called "A Glass Slipper" to be the "MOST AMAZING BAND EVER" (in all caps).
