RELAPSE RECORDS TO CO-SPONSOR 2003
SHOD FESTIVAL

Relapse Records has announced plans to co-sponsor the 2003 SHOD Festival. The scheduled three day festival will take place in Portland, Oregon at Berbati's Pan, kicking off Friday, August 29th, running through Sunday, August 31st.

The annual SHOD (Stoner Hands of Doom) Festival has featured the best stoner rock, sludge, doom metal, and rock & roll bands from around the world since its inception in 1998. The 2003 SHOD Festival will feature upwards of 35 acts and will see "themed" evenings constitute the festival's scheduling. Friday, August 29th is slated as the "Day of Ultimate Doom" featuring sets from SUNN0))), Floor and Morgion. Saturday is dedicated to "All Things Rock", with Porn (the Men Of) and Bottom providing the finale, and Sunday night is "Ladies Night", celebrating seven bands that contain women dedicated to making extreme music. Sunday's lineup will feature AmberAsylum, Totimoshi, Subarachnoid Space and Wormwood amongst others.

Relapse President Matt Jacobson states, "Relapse Records is happy to announce our involvement with the 2003 SHOD Festival and is dedicated to the continual sponsoring of quality underground music festivals and related events.
