PRESS RELEASE
Oslo, Norway 12th October 2005

SUSPERIA HIT TOP 20

OSLO,NORWAY - Melodic metallers SUSPERIA, have taken their heavy sounds to the masses in their native Norway with the release of their new EP 'Devil May Care'. The band entered the singles charts for the first time in their career last week when the EP made it's debut at Number 21 on Norway's Official 'Hit List'. The EP has climbed a further two places to Number 19 in the past seven days. As a result, the band have created history by becoming the first home grown act in the metal genre to achieve a Top 20 hit in the country. In the process they have caused a stir among the pop orientated releases that usually dominates the Norwegian charts. The band currently lie between Mariah Carey and Kelly Clarkson in a chart that also contains Depeche Mode and Robbie Williams.

Bass guitarist Memnock commented with a wry grin that "It's nice to be the thorn between two roses. On a serious note though, this is a great achievement for Susperia and it's good to see that Norwegian metal acts are being recognised by a wider audience. It's nice to make the popstars feel a little uncomfortable once in a while"

'Devil May Care' was released in Europe through TABU Recordings as a special edition CD. The EP features a combination of original and cover songs that have been drawn from various recording sessions.Tracks appearing on the release are the 'Unlimited' album track 'Devil May Care', new song 'Venting The Anger' and three covers, 'Lack Of Comprehension' originally recorded by Death, 'Wild Child' originally recorded by WASP and a version of 'The Sun Always Shines On TV' - a worldwide hit for fellow Norwegians A-Ha. As an added bonus the release contains the promo videos for 'Chemistry' and 'Devil May Care' as well as screensavers, wallpapers and booklet picture gallery. The EP was completed at StrandStudio in Oslo, Norway. Production duties were handled by the band and engineered by Marius Strand

SUSPERIA have gone from strength to strength since the release 2004's critically acclaimed album 'Unlimited', which was recognised with a nomination in the "Metal" category of Norway's prestigious Alarm Awards. Sales of the CD have gone on to exceed those of the bands' previous albums which were released through the Nuclear Blast label. A tour with Bay area thrash legends Testament on their Reunion tour earlier this year further boosted the bands profile.

The band - Athera (vocals), Elvorn and Cyrus (guitars) Memnock (bass guitar), Tjodalv (drums) - have a live show lined up at the John Dee, Oslo Norway on Saturday 22nd October. Support comes from Mindgrinder. A European tour is currently being lined up for December to promote the release of 'Devil May Care'. Details will be announced shortly.
