I think it is being put on by the honeypump folks. the Kahante show is part of this fest so isn't the one I posted early with Presley and Black Helicopter.

I guess it is happening all weeklong at 6 venues with 90+ bands, an anti- nemo, emergenza type of thing I suppose

what is nemo?

when i was friends with deb she wanted me to go to nemo with her and that's where she met a lot of bands she wanted to feature on the site. though nemo is a lot more than just bands

I don't think I know nemo, but ben is awesome for doing this whole thing. the variety and size of bands is nothing but good for this scene.

then khanate. I've been wanting to see khanate for so long.

kayo dot: unlike the 4 memeber khanate, the X member kayo dot 1/2 filled the stage and 1/2 spilled out on the floor (guitars+bass). This set sounded lightyears ahead of the middle east show. The whole band seemed more relaxed and like they were having a better time. I got a bunch of close ups (especially of the guy on trc's CD who's name escapes me, but due to carina's 70-200 and the close quarters, most of them are OOF (out of focus). I foresee a screen and movie set up for them at some point soon.
PS: I'm the ass that tossed a dead battery in their kettle drum thinking it was trash. Oopies, sorry .

yeah.. I tried to be really really mindful of that. a lot of people just wanted to close their eyes and herione out. I think I blinded you most of those times during kayo dot

i think kayo dot pretty much sucked. khanate blew them away. they had a great sickening atmosphere. i wish i taped it because it sounds different than the cds. awesome set.

I came in when they were sound checking. Oh man, it sounded so good. basically perfect. if I had an issue to point out, they turn it up just a little bit. We'll see what's up when they start.
I think that it was not as loud as I would have thought it would be. The bass though was so incedible that my teeth were vibrating. I'm actually a little glad that it wasn't turned up to11 cause I may have soiled myself with that bass. They only played 3 parts, but it lasted for and hour and 20 minutes. Each section was about 20-ish minutes long. The whole time, they basically just stood there, but it was awesome. The drummer looked like he was trying to slowly beat the shit out of his drum set. Very sadistic. the bassplayer kept looking very angry about something.. A lot of the time it was the feedback from the mic. their had tons of equipment, a lot of it sporting sunn O))) logos.
I'm surprised at the lack of taste people have since not as many people seemed to care as should have. yes the place was packed, but it should have been so packed that people should have been turned away.

I wish i had 3 sunno))) heads and 3 sunno))) cabs. what a great fucking set up.
