i gotta say that this movie is awesome. Probably the best horror movie of the year, with "high tension" in second place. Very interesting take on each member of the firefly clan. Some felt that toward the end they feel sorry for the members of the clan because they are being so badly beaten and tortured. However, i found myself pleased at their discomfort and torrture of Baby, Capt Spaulding and Otis, mainly due to the fact that they are cold-blooded mass murderers who have a habit of wearing their victims faces as memorabilia. Danny trio and diamond dallas page certainly add a spice to the movie as "the unholy two" a duo of badasses out to hunt down the family and hired by william forsythe's chracter. the soundtrack to this movie is killer, i can honestly say that i will never think the same things when i hear "free bird" come on the radio again! also, this movie had everything, from face removals, to chicks getting hit with semis while wearing their husbands faces!!! awesome movie, worth the 6.25 to go and see it. not your typical horror movie, but hey, a change of pace from all the typical slasher movies was long overdue. awesome acting from a great lineup of actors who havent been seen in the mainstream theaters in quite a while. overall i give it an A-.

yeh the movies are pretty cheap to go to, but the heat is fucking killer. however, when its hot here, the chicks tend to wear less so the heat kinda works toward our advantage

I haven't seen it yet, but I heard from a reliable source it was very good. I think the reason people hate it is partially because it's Rob Zombie. Yes, his music sucks many cocks, but I did like House and I'm looking forward to seeing this.

when i saw that movie, every fat girl was in a cowboy hat. it was a david lynch moment, because i swear to god when the movie ended they had all lost 200 pounds and their cowboy hats turned to pink red sox hats.

it was still a brutal movie though. the gun battle was intense. just so many intense parts

nah dude its just like...its so obviously a tribute to that and not a ripoff. both movies are tributes to the horror movies and characters he loves (which is why so many of the actors in this movie, if not all of them, have been in other awesome shit). its sort of like how kill bill is a love letter to all quentin tarantinos favorite movies.

id like to see what hes going to do next. itd be cool if he did something NR.

seems to me like rob zombie would make some awesomely disturbing david lynch-like films. Something that on the outside seems normal but really is very eerie and strange, like Blue Velvet, what a freakshow of a movie that was, awesome though!

yeah, but these movies arent as cerebral. david lynch movies generally dont have violence for the sake of violence. i think hes going to make more aesthetically pleasing movies and im sure in about 10 years hes going to get REALLY good at it.

yeah i hear what you are saying, its just that davind lunch films such as blue velvet can be just as disturbing as rob zombies movies, one scene from the movie includes dennis hopper huffing laughing gas and raping his "woman" while screaming "fuck me mommy." to me thats just as disturbing as seeing some dude get the back of his head blown off. or other wierd shit such as when dennis hopper and his gang kick the shit out of kyle mclaughlin's character and there are fat chicks dancing all over cars in the background. moments like these appear subtle as you mention, but overall i think they can be more disturbing than violence for the sake of violence which rob zombie is excellent at.

I just saw it last night. I think it was definitely better than the first. When i think of it more as a tribute to good horror films the bad script doesnt bother me as much. I couldve done without the freebird music video at the end of the movie though. That whole scene i was thinking "Is Rob really gonna play this whole fucking song?". It wasnt a masterpiece or anything but at least I didnt walk out of the theatre wanting those two hours of my life back. Rob Zombie's wife needs my penis.
