The USA should call the holiday "The Price You Pay For Supporting Israel Day"

Right, we all know that hating the jews is so much more fashionable.

Hating jews is not the issue. The issue is supporting a country whose prime minister is a war criminal that seeks to bring about a jewish racialist state... Why is that in United States taxpayers best interest?

the petition is about supporting and recognizing the people that innocently lost their lives that day... not some bullshit "israeli" crap... it's about remembering the people that died that day, which very much so included people of all faiths, races and creeds. i think this is a bullshit idea. just because a lot of people die it's no reason to make a holiday out of it.

So we might as well do away with the 4th of july, memori al day, patriots day, etc... It's not people didn't died in order for those to become holidays... If we took those away that makes three more days at work too.

Is there a way to root them out? I refuse to set a day aside to remember them.

I'd trade 9/11 day for Labor Day. Instead of having two holidays so close together, we can create this new holiday and have it on a constant date instead of an ever changing one(even if the time Labor Day is celebrated is always constant but holidays with no set date get dumb).

But in all seriousness, I just don't really care either way. Holiday or not...it still happened and people are still going to remember.

I recall a couple of those planes came from Logan airport. How many times a year do you fly out of Logan? What if it was you on those planes? Or your parents, sisters, brothers, close friends?

As far as the holiday........ The whole point of the attack was to kill Americans & shut down our economy. I think a yearly holiday that would basically close down the stock market, banks, offices & the U.S. Government, would pretty much celebrate those who designed & carried out the attack. It would pretty much piss on the graves of the people who went to work, or got on those planes that day.

Really fucked up story, my uncle was booked on flight 93 but a week before sept 11 he had his flight changed to the afternoon because he didn't feel like waking up at 5 in the morning. My girlfriend was going to fly out to LA on 93 with her dad and stepmom(they were like one click away from ordering their tickets online) before deciding to visit Nova Scotia instead.
