a while ago a fucking virus or something shacked up with my computer. my internet explorer has random words linked, a search feature pops up in the history window on the left (ctrl +H window) and there is an "Elitebar" in my fucking toolbar. I have no idea what to do. I'm trying to search for some alien file but can't find shit.

Download adaware and spybot (free)
Run searches and delete or repair all found files. Restart, and download hijackthis. Run a scan, and post a copy of your log at the hijack-this forums. Someone smart will come along and tell you what to do.
