Chaos Fest ends in violence

Milwaukee's Chaos Fest 2005 came to an abrupt halt last night as a member of From A Second Story Window was attacked shortly into the band's set. The brawl apparently started when a member of Indiana hardcore band Blood In/Blood Out attacked FASSW's singer. One of our associates was at the show and provided us with the following information:
"The dispute was over a small problem that occurred the night before in Chicago where the singer for FASSW was crowd surfing and accidentally knocked out a false ceiling tile in the venue. The member of BIBO that did the attacking was seeking revenge on the FASSW member because he 'caused damage to the last venue in Chicago that does DIY shows.' FASSW's guitar player and cameraman, among others, were severely harmed. FASSW suffered severe equipment damage, their bassist's bass was snapped in half, their triple rectifiers were knocked flat to the ground, and their drums were smashed when a small riot broke out following the initial attack. There is no news yet as to whether or not FASSW will be cancelling any dates because of the incident, although it is likely considering their guitar player was hurt badly and they will have to replace their equipment."
What the fuck is wrong with people. FASSW is the most genuine, stand-up band i have ever met. This goes to show you no one is safe from the ignorance of the ignorants.

Maybe those fucking pussies should have found a venue without such a low ceiling. That and perhaps they shouldn't have put in ceiling tiles, which look gay and are useless for anything aside from sliding one out and hiding porn in them. |

All I know is if BIBO is so concerned about venues getting shut down, why are they pulling something like this at a festival, thus making it harder to do this kind of thing music-festival-wise anymore -- additionally shutting the doors of the venue where CF was hosted this year to aggressive music?

we've played with both bands on different tours.
their guitar player, who's a really nice kid, knocked his own rig over while spinning around on stage instead of playing his guitar. i ran up there to pick it up and he clocked me in the back of the head with his headstock.
didn't see blood in blood out. we had to drive straight from Indiana to Boston. |

FASSW is far from fashion core, far from ordinary. and i don't kno them, but i chatted with a few of them, and just seeing them perform and how much fun they were having gave me the impression that they were all pretty awesome guys just doing what they like. |
