His eyes and the area around them look kind of cartoonish at first, but if you look closely, his eyes are actually closed and he looks kind of like he's crying and scared.

fake, the gun looks like someone photoshopped it into the image.
It's a G.I. Joe. The gun is plastic and probably being held between someone's fingers at the stock. I know you're supposed to keep your finger off of the trigger when you're just standing around but that looks like the gun is floating.
