December play a special one-off show on Friday, June 13, at Ark-a-ik, in their hometown of Reno, Nevada. Opening are 7 Eyes, Twice, and The Subject of Us. December axeman Julian Peach promises the band will be delving deep into the vaults and pulling out some rarely-played, rarely-heard songs off their hard-to-find first album for this hometown show, as well as rockin' out on all the hits off their latest, "The Lament Configuration".

EPHEL DUATH'S "THE PAINTER'S PALETTE" TAKES METAL INTO THE NEXT STRATOSPHERE

Italian virtuosos Ephel Duath have completed the recording of their new album, "The Painter's Palette". In a cynical age where musical stagnation is king, with the bland leading the bland, a band like Ephel Duath shines like a beacon from the mire. Mainman Davide Tiso has assembled an astonishingly diverse set of musicians in order to add flesh to the bones of his vision. Taking a giant stride away from the band's black metal influences of old, Ephel Duath are now charting unexplored territories within the metal genre. A heady mix of jazz fusion, hardcore and progressive metal, The Painter's Palette delves into the jazz-terrorism of John Zorn, the technical outburts of Dillinger Escape Plan, the earnest hardcore wailing of Refused, and the rock mysticism of Tool, combining these influences into a radically new sonic vision. "The Painter's Palette" is set for release in the US on June 17.

Hate Eternal were one of eight bands interviewed by Rob Zombie for a special "New England Metal and Hardcore Fest" episode of MTV2's Headbanger's Ball that premiered Saturday, May 24 at 10 pm eastern time. Other bands interviewed included Superjoint Ritual, Meshuggah, and Strapping Young Lad.
