For one, Absinthe is no longer 'illegal' (it never was in fact, but just recently some shit blahblahblah to many words to explain, just Google if you want all the details, but simply: yes real absinthe is readily available all over the USA right now including domestic distilleries).

The 'best' example of now-adays Absinthe I would say to start with though, would be anything from Jade:

Or, if you want something that you can easily find at almost any the liquor store right now than Lucid is the most 'authentic' that is super easy to find.

Though recently there has been many more options on the local shelves, at least around Boston.
