The resulting water could get into the pots or any other components. It's not a guarantee, but just a concern. I have heard that wrapping your gear in plastic bags can prevent condensation but I've never tried it. Having done some touring in the winter, we've left gear in the cold and brought it right into sweltering venues, then back and forth etc. No real issues to report.
