haste the day: tim simpson hit the nail on the head. like zao, back when zao was good. I have yet to get one of their cds, but if it's as good as they are live, it's got to be awesome.

dead poetic: man, I didn't like this band at all. I didn't like their cd, but the vocals live are so much worse... I will stop talking about them now, it's depressing me.

beloved: I'd heard they were "amazing". it was a lot of hype for a band to live up to. I'll say they were pretty freaking loud. the singer also did double duties on the guitar. also, the drummer did excellent screaming backups. so they were pretty good.

underoath: new singer. the new singer is so un-polish and completely wrong for the style of music that underoath does. but actually, that's why I liked his vocals better than the last singer. the last guy's vocals looked aimed at the fata-population of mtv2-land. the new guy turned those sweet vocals into horrible screams.

norma jean: another new singer... it's like it's in fashion, right up there with bands cancelling shows and show getting cancelled. he seemed pretty out of place with norma jean, mostly cause he weighted over 130. his vocals weren't spot on, and were more of a hardcore scream and less metal-core that the last guy, but whatever. the guitar player for dead poetic came on and sang during memphis will be blah blah, then during another song, aaron (human flight committee/spillkit) came and sang back ups too.
