your credit will be ruined. As soon as they start filling the eviction notices your fucked. From the point that he files it, they will have about 6month before they will be ordered to leave by the court. A lot of time when this happens, the people living in said homes realize they can live rent free while in court, only for you to get a bill for 6months rent after they inevitably get kicked out. Your best bet is to do WHATEVER you can to pay it before he files it. Try talking him into taking 700, or whatever you can get. Most landlords will drop it if you pay what you can, and leave so he can rent to someone more responsible. Eviction costs them a lot of money, and these days they know after the whole court process that they could lose the rent you owe them, and the six months court takes. (if they've done it before they will know this.)

So talk to him, tell him the situation, be honest about how much money you can give him. Sell anything you can to get the money. I can't rent apartments without my parents signing because a roommate did somehting similar to me.
