CANDLELIGHT and KARMAGEDDON MEDIA
Confirm Agreement for North America
Philadelphia: Candlelight today confirms the North American license for all Karmageddon Media recordings. The new partnership will see the US and Canadian release of all new and reissued catalog titles from the newly formed Dutch record label through Candlelight's stateside operation.
Starting in early 2004, Candlelight will coordinate release and promotion of new albums from Karmageddon Media - including MORIFADE, TORTURE KILLER, HEARSE (featuring former Arch Enemy singer Johan Liiva), WITHIN Y, the eagerly anticipated DISMEMBER as well as special enhanced reissues of SEPTIC FLESH, SEVERE TORTURE, AETURNUS, NOCTURNUS, and the popular split album from DIMMU BORGIR and OLD MAN'S CHILD.
Karmageddon Media's Guido Heijnens says, "Candlelight has more than proven themselves in the territory and for us represented a logical choice in partners. We believe we will finally be able to have impact in the different market of North America. We look forward to getting going."
Since its launch January 2001, Candlelight's US operation has released over 80 albums across its three US imprints. The company's current projects include the second album from Norway's ZYKLON, the debut from GRIMFIST (featuring former members of Immortal), the label debut from Eugene, Oregon's YOB as well as first-time US release of KILL 2 THIS, HELVIS, 4FT FINGERS, CAPDOWN and KING PRAWN, among others. Earlier this year, the label reissued its popular catalog from Opeth, previously under license for the territory, with bonus material added.
Candlelight, with offices in Philadelphia, is headquartered in London and is distributed exclusively in the US by Caroline Distribution; in Canada by PHD Canada; throughout the rest of the world by Plastichead Music Distribution.
