I completely understand what you're saying, but whenever these women would come to me to complain they'd always say things like "I wish someone would say something to him" or, "I wish someone would stop him". So, technically they are asking for my help. But as they told me afterwards, they don't want to "rock the boat" any more than it already has been so they try and stay "neutral". In the end that just causes me to look like a bonehead for reading them wrong.
