Modern society idolises the pleasure principle as the ultimate priority. You waste years of your life working as a slave towards obtaining material effects and fulfilling physical desires which do nothing but temporarily distract you from your abyssal anxiety.

When you die, none of this will remain. Your temporary solutions and goals will be forgotten with your flesh and your egocentric life will only be remembered by a few words scratched into a sea of tombstones. That which transcends your mortality and reigns immortal -- art, culture, the environment, history -- has faded out of priority behind the flashing lights, the plastic celebrities, and the disposable music made for quick, mindless consumption.

Fuck consumerism.
