Although, to some extent, I think they were "being a dick about it". However, I will give them an ounce of credit for expressing their opinions in a remotely intelligent way, (i.e. They said more than, "Fuck you. You suck."). But then again, there are always those people who will dislike something specifically because a lot of other people like it. They're the ones who tried too hard to be "different" when they were in high school.
