acid king: never heard of this band before. They were pretty rocking. Grief style doom with a 70's rock feel. It's like they are playing b-sides (45's) from Cream at 33rpm. you know the music sounds familiar, but you can't quite place it. The girl singer came up with some great 70's riffs, but most of the singing didn't do it for me. At the beginning it was too far in front of the music and a lot of it sounded flat or off key. She moved the mic and the vocals got quiter, the music that fill in around the quiter vocals tied them right into the songs. It sounded like there might have been an fx unit on them at this point, but I couldn't tell. It sort of sounded flanged a bit. I had to run at this point since carina and I were shooting a wedding in the morning.
